Can anyone of you here kindly clarify the snag between Quetta City and Quetta Zone?

Pardon my incapacities what is the exact difference between Quetta Zone and Quetta City Local?

I yesterday visited BPSC to get a form for S.O S&GAD advertised by B.P.S.C while acquiring the form, the clerk on desk inquired what is your Local Sir? I said its Quetta he said Quetta Zone or Quetta City? I replied Quetta City; he said Sir you are not eligible to apply for the post advertised as these posts are only restrained to Quetta Zone not to Quetta city

You being a Quetta City Local cannot apply?

My question to you more experienced gentleman is am I really not eligible? I still could not take what the clerk was saying I am totally mystify

Brother as usually BPSC announce post on the base of Zone and Division.
Quetta city just candidates who have local/domicile of Quetta city and, Quetta Zone means candidates who must have local/domicile of District Pishin, Kuchlak, Qilla Abdullah or Quetta rural and Noshki District.

Quetta City: Main Quetta City or Quetta District.

Quetta Zone: It is comprised of District Pishin, District Killah Abdullah, Some Rural Areas of Quetta and District Chagai/Nushki is also included in it.


If you have Local or Domicile Certificate of Quetta District you can appear in the exam and contest for the reserved seat of Quetta City. Otherwise if you have Local/Domicile of District Pishin, Killah Abdullah & Chagai then you have to contest for the seats of Quetta Zone.

Today I was there in Commission Office & same scene happened. Actually seats of Section Officers have been advertised and according to the allocation policy neither Quetta City nor Merit has reserved seats. So you are not eligible if you belong to Quetta City. You can view the advertisement here. You are ineligible due to non-availability of seats not because of Quetty City.

Dear you have to wait for some time. I've information that there are chances of many vacancies to be advertised by the Commission. They will extend the date for submission of forms in case they increase the vacancies.

Let me also have few words...

Jattak and Zia have explained it very well.

Actually, BPSC advertises the posts on Zonal Allocation or On

division bases.

Quetta zone or division is comprised of Quetta District, Pishin, Qilla

Abdullah, Chaghi Noshki.

But for the posts of Police department Quetta is not in any zone either.

There only CAPITAL CITY is there.

Same is the case in many othere posts as well, Where separate posts

are announced for CAPITAL CITY.
