Cool A handsom salary but. . . . .

Section officer enjoys a good salary package but not any vehicle. May dupty secretary gets any vehicle but not confirm. During traing in CSAP a s.o takes 45k monthly and perhaps 50+ after completing traing.

Any futhur info will be welcomed

Section Officer is incharge of a unit in a Department and that unit is called Section which is assigned some duties. S.O initiates cases which route through Deputy Secretary and Additional Secretary to the Secretary who is head of the department. The cases prepared/examined by Section Officer may pass through Chief Secretary to Chief Minister in shape of summaries if required the approval of Chief Minister.

Section Officer if contributes, has pivotal role in policy making process. A Section Officer may have a vehicle or may not, it depends on department and post. Whereas Assistant Commissioner, has vehicle, closer to the people, gunmen, PR etc. Whereas, Section Officer lead an obscure life in a dim light.

Promotion is quick, initial salary is about 45k/month, free medical treatment, opportunities of foreign and inland trainings, and so on. Comparatively, A.C is more preferred by candidates in the exam and those having highest marks are assigned the post of A.C whereas the others get post of S.O.

Thanks bro for your informative post.

Few more queries...

After how many years an A.C /S.O promoted to next grade i listend that A.c ascends quicker than s.o.

And does a s.o get vehicle after promotion in grade 18?

And is there any difference in salaries after completion of traing?

Both are equal in promotion opportunities. S.O is first promoted as Under Secretary (B-18) then to Deputy Secretary (B-18) whereas A.C in B-18 may either be posted as D.C or Deputy Secretary directly. Promotion is on seniority cum fitness basis and as per rules for BPS-17 to BPS-18 ..05 years service length is required in BPS-17. So promotion to next rank takes about 4 to 5 years.

Yes, almost all deputy secretaries have good vehicles.

There is no difference in Balochistan. From the very first day you entitled for full salary even during the training.

Yes, there is a big difference. Deputy Secretary is incharge of a Wing and one Wing is comprised of 02 or more Sections and a Section is headed by Section Officer or Under Secretary. So, D.S is immediate boss of Under Secretary.

Post of Provincial Secretary is of BPS-20 and minimum length of service for BPS-20 is 19 years whether its police, DMG or provincial service.
