So my interview was today and it took me about 3 hours to get my name called for the interview probably because my name was early in the list.

Initial we were handed out yet another document to fill out our details academic and educational and we had to write a sort of an essay on NBP as well.

I reached at about 8.30 am and it turned out good for me as I was able to compose myself and more importantly got a comfortable seat

So the interview, i timed it and it was about 11mins of nothing. So I enter in this big room two executives are sitting there ask me immediately so Sir tell us about yourself, what have you studied why do you want to get this job, why are you leaving your old job, what are your roles in your current job, whats my salary package. And bit of a chatter and I was done with their final remarks as good. I hope those remarks weren't sarcastic. But I did make myself clear that I don't really want to work in a branch environment to which he said you probably will be initially placed at branches to which I gave a supportive answer.

Lastly I asked them about how long will this process take and their response was December.

All in all nothing technical or academic asked from me.

Btw I was kinda surprised to the number of Sindhi candidates almost 70% were sindhis and this was a surprise to me, now I am not a racist or anything, I guess its something to with Govt jobs

Good luck to all other candidates!

i would suggest you to try to switch to another bank at higher grade and better salary. initial years in a bank are always difficult. but if you want to just chill and relax go for nbp.

Thank you for the Advice brother. First we need to be offered employment lol which is unlikely looking up at stay order.

I think its important to do cost benefit analysis before making the decision and that can be done after getting the offer letter.

First question is whether NBP will make the TOs permanent in near future? because doing contractual job till your retirement is like killing the future .

Second question is whether candidates will be posted in their respective regions or not. i have heard NBP posting candidates in other regions on need basis. No private banks do that. As for me it would be unlikely. My current place of posting is 5 minutes drive from my home

Third question , what are the additional perks and benefits apart from salary? Car loan , house loan , yearly bonuses , health insurance , annual increments? i doubt contractual employees can have these benefits.

All these things can be assessed from offer letter and talking to friends working in NBP already. so no hasty decision

You must have gone to FTC building, Shahrah-e-Faisal Road, Karachi, Sindh

Don't you think it would not make sense if I say that I am taken aback to see large number of Punjabi candidates in Lahore center for interview. I know there are other communities in that province.

But what you have written surmises that it is something related to race.

By the way, the candidates ,irrespective of their race, were called for the interview on the basis of test score.
