i seriously am starting to question the prudence of sbp employing policies. first they take over two years to induct sbots 17 and now there are rumours that sbots 18 is going to fall through in the same year. this doesnt make sense on any level. inducting two programs in the same year results in talk of "saturation" of lower level employees that causes a drought in recruitment for the next two years (as was the case with SBOT17, among other reasons ofcourse, but several times on this forum we encountered saturation as one of the reasons). SBP should really think about regulating its recruitment policy as a long term plan rather than a daily basis whim for initiating programs, dropping them in the middle then deciding to take them up again. yeh logon key zindagi ka maamla hay yaar pata nahin central bank aisay roz k roz kaisay decisions bana sakta hay.

Some boys have shifted from hostel to areas near to head office like Clifton, Defense etc. 3 to 4 boys are residing in flats in these areas on 15k-20k per month. Minimum salary for SBOTS-17 has been raised to Rs. 45,900/-

Pioneers
Dear Waqar,
It is to inform you that SBOTs-16th Batch was the first batch (the pioneers) in getting full salary while their stay at NIBAF. I also am happy for you people who are going to get full salary which is 12k higher than what we got, save as much as you can because Karachi is not an easy place to survive otherwise. People who are from Karachi know this fact in advance. Best of luck for your training and the trips, my suggestions to all of you would be to enjoy at full, study to just pass the exams as they do not matter here. Thing to remember is that the Top ten people are given departments of their own choice, if anyone of you is interested in that may study hard cause passing is easy, scoring in the line of toppers is tough. SBP for Women
Dear Senior Members,
Can you please comment on how SBP's overall working environment for working women? I have been offered a place in SBOT 17th batch and my only reservations are staying out of Lahore and the working environment. If any respected senior members can offer reassurance on this matter it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! |

As far as working environment for women in SBP is concerned, it is absolutely fine. However, living out of Lahore may seem quite odd in the beginning. Some people find it really difficult to adjust in Karachi. Girls have been provided hostel facility. (less than 1 KM away from SBP) Many girls from Punjab prefer to get transferred to their native cities after some time because probably they don't want to settle permanently in Karachi after their marriage. But remember... transfer / deputation is not an easy task.
