Dr. Moeed Pirzada's talk show on Dunya TV. His talk shows are very informative, but there are many other talk shows which you may watch depending on the time you have.

Don't watch any. Just read Dawn's editorials, columns, opinions, International pages thoroughly and keep noting down important points and analysis.

These talk shows most of the time discuss daily politics and you will end up wasting your time. This is my personal opinion and experience. Since you are a beginner so invest your time in understanding the things through Dawn and understanding their history through Wikipedia and text books.

I'd agree with Redefiner on this.

Unfortunately, our talk shows are sensationalist in nature. I don't think they'd be of much use for academic purposes. But, that's just my opinion.

You should then prefer to read articles and columns instead of having the tuning of Pakistani channels.in addition to reading, write articles in simple words:it will enhance your critical thinking, besides having your own frame of arguments.

Why not CNN and BBC, though sensationalism they may have, but it will improve your English a lot.
I, my own self, covered the middle east crisis like " Iran nuclear deal, ISIS born fanacticism, Syrian and Iraq crisis from these TV channels all alone.
P.S. try to watch those programs that are useful, like I used to regularly watch the American channel"Democracy now" that interviewed General whlsely clark -american 4 star general, Its a good channel indeed.
Similarly, the best amongst these is "watching documentary movies", like i love this documentry the most.
