I am a doctor and have very long duty hours but still I try studying atleast 5 hours daily,its possible if the will power is there

Of course u can do it. I have cleared the written exam this year while doing a job. In my opinion the only problem is with our self confidence coz we don't think we can make it whereas infact our job experience expands our vision and ability to grasp things quickly. I for example, when once finally committed myself for the studies Found it very easy to get to the concepts of things which I was previously finding very hard. So go for it and please don't waste time like I did and do it immediately. Trust me u would really enjoy your tiime.

I think that there is nothing impossible.definitely,as per time,it is bit hard for a individual to prepare himself for this exam............
in every exam of the life,some hardships difinitely persist,but a person should stand to that hardships. spend the time,after yr wrkng hours, preparing yrself for ths exam ,and believe me you will get best fruit from that. best of luck.

i appeared in 2007 and now i hav decided to appear in 2011 doing job 9 - 6 n studing as well keep in touch with english all the time , everyday and remaining option whereas go for copmulsory b4 4 or 5 months of papers one thing which everybody mentioned consistency n keep motivating urself GBU

Real time required for preparation in unit of hours
I really appreciate above posts, very helpful and sincere guidance from seniors on this forum.
But even we would like to appreciate some precise calculation in unit of hours for the time required to prepare for CSS (i.e ofcourse for six compulsories & frequently opted optionals). And wat about the strategy! Some seniors advise very limited books while others recommend a bunch under each title. Where is the benchmark through which everybody could go through & reach up to the mark.

how much time should be given to study?
how much time should be given to study while u r doing job from 9 to 5.secondly i want to know that i dont hav very good writing speed if i write speedily my written material becomes difficult to understand.plz give me some suggestions in opting my subjects i hav B.E telecom background...at the same time i hav done B.A (private) with pol sci. and journalism as majors.the combination i hav decided so far is following
international relations pol.sci public admin i am bit of confused between islamic culture & history and physics........as i hav bit of background of physics but i i find islamic culture & history more interesting.thx
