ACCA student unsure about eligibility for CSS
Asalaam O Alaikum.
I'll be done with my ACCA this December inshAllah. ACCA collaborates with the Oxford Brookes University and provides its students with the opportunity that they can obtain a Bachelors Degree in Applied Accounting. I have submitted my research and analysis project and am currently awaiting result for my bachelors degree. I have read that HEC grants this foreign degree an equivalence of a three year Pakistani bachelors degree. For CSS, are we supposed to obtain a 4 years bachelors degree or will this 3yr one satisfy the requirement? Secondly, if any one has already gone through this process. Does HEC look at your attendance at a recognized tuition provider for granting this equivalence? If they do, does that mean that private ACCA students are unable to obtain this degree? My reference for HEC recognition of this degree: http://pakistan.accaglobal.com/pakis...nformation/hec Would be extremely grateful for your replies! Jazakallah. |

Thankyou so much Andrew and Balooch for your timely replies.
Can anyone clear my second question please? i.e. Does HEC look at your attendance at a recognized tuition provider for granting this equivalence? If they do, does that mean that private ACCA students are unable to obtain this degree? I have studied all my exams from tuition providers, but I did change my college for one subject and fell below 80% attendance for another. However, I passed all exams in first attempts so far so I hope I wont have to retake those classes as according to HEC rules which state '' For recognition purposes only, if a student's attendance falls below 80%, HEC requires that they study the paper again to make up their attendance deficiency '' |

:@aaisha..walikum salam they wont ask for attendance,if this would be the case then private graduates who only attempt exams wouldn't get equivalence..I got equivalence a year ago on same degree without any attendance issue.Having said that they MAY have changed the policy coz of fake degrees..regards

Aisha, I'm going for the Oxford Brooks programme to but haven't done A-levels/Intermediate. I've heard that its required for the candidate to have completed A-levels/Intermediate before the the Oxford Brooks degree can be granted equivalence. Is that correct?

Sorry for the delayed reply mactwo. I'v been busy!
How many exams have u cleared so far? For the Oxford Brookes Degree, you need to be opted in at the time of registration with ACCA. If u haven't done A levels or Bachelors, then you will either have to go for CAT or the MSER route in order to join ACCA. However, the eligibility for the OBU degree is completion of the fundamentals level. The A level/ Bachelors/ CAT/ MSER requirement is simply for starting ACCA. Any student who has completed the Fundamentals level and was opted into the programme at time of registration, is eligible for the OBU degree. |
