I think there was a need because Bachelors of UK (Arts or Engineering has same 3 years duration) is equal to 16 years education in Pakistan which is equivalent to MA not BA of Pakistan.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has approved the summary of extension of upper age Limit for CSS Candidates from 28 years to 30 years . Further details will follow , which include the minimum qualification or total years of education and Age limit of Government Servants . Good luck!

First news came that PM had rejected the proposal and now this news. What to believe and what not to?

The rejection news came from one source only,whereas the today's news has multi sources,it seems some credible news, but the official announcement is the authentic one. Lets hope and wait.
