Question CSS Vs Foreign PhD

Assallam Au Allaikum Everyone!

I have a very important decision to make, I recently returned from abroad after my MS and currently serving as a lecturer. I can give just one shot at CSS in CE 2014. I have got a PhD position in Canada with full funding (including a stipend). I believe I can clear CSS in one go but I am not sure if I should go for the PhD or stay in Pakistan and attempt CSS. Within CSS only FSP charms me.

Looking forward to advice and suggestions from senior members here, specially those already serving as CSPs (specifically in FSP).

Jazak Allah

Dear, it is entirely your own choice if you want to pursue Ph.D or want to do CSS. Both are having pros and cons/positive and negative points.

Perhaps you did MS on some government scholarship and had signed some bond and as such serving in some university as Lecture. If you want to pursue your career in teaching, after doing your Ph.D you can easily get slot of Assistant Professor! And this may add up to your career as an advanced degree coupled with associated pricks and privileges.

In CSS you may get lot of pricks and privileges associated with your occupational group, nature of posting etc. But it is not must that you qualify css or even it is not necessary that if you qualify you get FSP.

To sum up, it is said that a bird in hand is better thn two in the bush. So Ph.D may be a good option for you..

Regards

In which subject you will do your PHD? Anyways, a foreign PHD in Pakistan easily gets a salary up to Rs. 150,000 and in no time you will rise to 3 to 4 lacs depending upon your calibre. You can really excel if you do quality research. You can be a dean of a college later on or even an advisor to Government. Go for PHD.
