CSS optional groups are formulated in such a way that each one caters to a specific field of study. This is done so that the aspirants should not find it difficult to face new areas of study. This distribution of FPSC (if there is one and every one should doubt that) is totally illogical. There is no reasoning behind the marks distribution and the optional' cataloguing is carried out in a random and haphazard fashion. (Arabic and Criminology share no link. Likewise, Urdu, Anthropology and Agriclture bear no common root that can point out towards their inclusion in a single group).

Plus, the change of the optional grouping is not at all a trivial issue and its legalities can also be challenged in the court of law. This news is totally fake and unofficial.

Please try to share the official information from authentic sources. Information gathered from any source outside the domain of FPSC official correspondence is deemed incredible and it should essentially bear no standing.

There are some changes being discussed lately for revising the syllabus, introducing new subjects, regrouping, reducing predictability (Scoring Trends etc.) and some other measures. This draft changes along with proposal for screening test were discussed with us when we were under training at DMG/PAS Campus somewhere back in 2013. I talked to a friend in Establishment Division who apprised me that presently it's being discussed at various levels. FPSC cannot amend it without prior approval of Establishment Division. To my understanding, it should be & it will be notified at least six months prior to the date of commencement of examination. I will update here as & when more information is available. While those appearing in 2015 will not be affected, others preparing for 2016/17 will have sufficient time to reconsider their subjects if these changes ever get approved.

Regards,

I hope they don't bother students or spread confusion for CE 2016/2017 by switching between the old grouping and new grouping like they did with the screening test.

Dear, please read my post carefully. I also wrote that it is summary by FPSC and did not get approval of Establishment. I never claimed that this is authentic. I hope this will help you in understanding.

I can only pray to Allah that an optional division like this never gets approved by the pertinent authority.
