Maturity and CSS
Hi everyone, i hope you're in good health.A brief introduction about myself; i am a business graduate from Peshawar aged 23 and will be 24 this May IA. My family has inspired me to pursue competitive examination and i will be appearing in CE-2017.
However there is this one thing that is bothering me a lot. What is the appropriate/right age to appear in CSS. Let me clarify this again, i am not asking about the age limit or relaxation period. What i mean is that what is the age bracket of candidates who has cleared the examination. The purpose of asking this question is that whether or not, i being a 24 years old candidate expect of clear the exam and then get selected. I can understand that it will depend on the quality of my paper and interview and of course i am going to do my best while preparing but still i want to know where i stand. Should i wait, starts Masters and prepare along the way or give my best and appear in the exam. I hope that my post make sense and helps to convey my thoughts. Regards |

Everyone has different levels in different things. Maturity doesn't come with age.. its the result of the way we live.. work real hard and prepare yourself to the extent till you believe that you will ace it.
good luck. |

Dear, if you want to make Civil Service as your career, its better to do it timely. I believe take leap at this point if you don't have any responsibility on your shoulders

I once asked myself the same question; however, it was many years ago. I am also 24 now. Answer to the question was like this: you are okay if you can understand how this exam works (all stages), if you can understand the subject matter of all subjects, if you can understand and form opinion on most national and international issues -a student from 11th grade won't be able to understand why America is worried about the Pakistani nukes - if you can understand the questions asked in CSS exam. If the answer to these questions is a 'yes', then you are okay. The relevant knowledge of subjects will come with preparation. I know people who passed this exam at the age of 22 and got allocated in PAS.

So the largest number of successful candidates are from Below 25 which is 27.7% and then Below 27 which is 25.7 % and then Below 29 which is 21.8 %. |
