Were you convicted in a court of law? (I have never heard this happening for such a minor offence) or were you just made to pay a fine. If all you did was pay a fine there's no need for any worry, that does not mean you have a criminal record.

they got an FIR on me and then i didnt pay anything court released me and my car next day. I have no idea what is that supposed to mean. But this all happened because I chose not to bribe them at first place. My lawyer said case is dismissed.

Atta, you were not convicted. There is nothing to worry about. Just going to court in front of a judge does not mean you were convicted.

if your lawyer said your case is dismissed .and in the court you were not asked to sign a blank paper and put your thumb impression.then its not a problem.kyo k jab apko saza di jati ha tu judge apko paper pe sign + thumb ka bolta ha.usk ooper apki saza + order type hota ha.aur agr apko fine kiya gya tha judge ki trf se tab bhi apko bank mein ja k govt k account mein amount submit karwany ka bola gya hoga.agr apne fine b ni pay kiya na kuch aur esa scene hua ha tu your lawyer might be right about case dismiss.and in CRPC judges have the power to dismiss a case, and they can discharge you as well under section 249-a and 265-k..and last thing ,as per my experience agr suppose ap convicted b huay ho tu 110% sure ha k police ne iski takmeel ni ki hogi.so whatevr is your case ap pareshan mut ho,agr phir b dil ko tassali na ho tu apny makami police station se confirm krwa lo.hope it will help
