joining Academies are just wasting of money

Hello

I am JUNAID from LAHORE.

i once Joined Renowned Academy of LAHORE, who claim themselves to be Superior in this field. " OFFICER's ACADEMY".

I found it very redeculus and time wasting place,

Espacially SIR HAMMAD, who have no any concern with any student and with the efforts and hard working of the students, he just know when and how to grab the money from the students in the form of FEE and NOTES CHARGRES.

i tell you a true reality,
when my freind purchased notes of IR from BOOK SHOP of ACADEMY, it costed him more then 600 for just 1 topic,,, when i photocopied it from some other place, it costed me only RS /. 300.

The notes are not so clearly visible. Most of the notes are made by the students, not by teachers there.

The other reallity :

There are lots of students in that academy , due to which you are unable to focus and concentrate on lectures, because of the conjusted place, lack of proper seating arrangements,

The 3rd Reality :

There are no proper arrangements of Conducting Weekly , Monthly TESTS etc. Students complelety have to relay on themselves over there and unable to digest the lectures delieverd by the teachers.

So,

folks i suggest you to not join any academy , just try to get the basic tips and tactics from the teachers ,

Academies are just a source of wasting people's money and time.

i joined that academy for more then 5 months and at the end i gained nothing from that academy,,,

so just have strong faith on ALLAH and start preparation by yourself and libraries are the best source to grab knowledge rather then academies becasue you will find lot of people to interact over there and share your views etc.

No doubt about it . I have found no better academy than this forum.
One more advice more newbies : try to avoid local authors , if u have time for detailed study. Foreign books are usually much better and interesting to read.

Academies for what?

Hello everybody,

I ever discouraged to join the academy. One must study his own. No need to join the academy and i beleive that a self studying person may get more score than academies.

What academy can help us is:
1. Notes
2. Study environment
3. Group discussions

When compaed to self study:

1. Academy notes confine you to a limited area of study. You own the prepared notes in hand and you naturally exist within the limits of that syllabous. While self studying person have a wide choice he does more than any syllabous. But he must have the out line with him.
2. Everything is based on your ambition, so you can create a study environment by your own than any of the academy. Just tune up you your mind with exciting ambition.
3. Group discussions are very much imortant. So self studying person must have a company of scholars or professionals as much as he can.
4. Internet is the best library than any notes or study material of academy.
5. Online forum is the ever best paltform for group discussion than any of the academy that exist in the jurisdiction of Pakistan.
6. Keep motivated , never confine yourself to single point and let your spirit alive.

Don't Join - Have Faith

I think academies are necessary for the persons lacking in dedication and self-motivation.

I would like to present some informations regarding Officers Academy.

Yesterday, on 3rd May, 2009, I attended a seminar on CSS here at Ramada Hotel, Multan, organized by the "reknowned" "OFFICERS ACADEMY". Mr. Hammad (Principal of the academy) was there and was calling himself as SP (Superitendant Police) HAMMAD. But when he was asked about where he is currently posted, he looked a bit confused, a replied that this a long dicsussion and not-discussable here. But upon insisting, he told that he had some court problems during service and now the matter is clear and he is expected to join anywhere around Lahore.

Now the question arises, why a government service official runs such an Academy.

The answer in my opinion is that probably he has been suspended/removed from service due to a curruption case (Afterall, Allah knows better!!!). And now he has made this kind of academy to make money (Remember that he is an Electrical Engineer also and can earn a lot through fair means by making good use of that qualification).

So my dear members!!!

Please have faith in Allah and your abilities. Be self-determined.

1. Choose the optional subjects that best suits to your interest.

2. Buy the books recommended by FPSC

3. Join some good library

4. Thouroughly go through good dialies of the country like Dawn, The Nation, The News, Express, Jang etc.

Regularly visit;

washingtonpost.com
nytimes.com
reuters.com

5. Look for the CSS aspirants around you (preferabley in the library you have joined) and regulary discuss hot issues with them.

Have faith in Allah and study whole-heartedly.

If you follow this schedule, then, in my opinion no need to join an academy to waste precious time and money

@ Dawood Ali

i live in Badar block in A.I.T,,,,,,

tell me, where and when you want to meet or contact me ?

@ Arslan Shoukat

Arslan !!!!!!!!

when i was in Officer's Academy in last year's sept session....... most of the students in his class asked him about his current service and posting as a ASP and he clearly told every 1 that he is no more a CSP officer and this shows that person's ill and sick mentality that how he deviating and misguiding people and public regarding his CSP's status and position.............That person is not a CSP officer , i am dead sure about it...... so budies and folks prefer libraries over academies,,,,,,,,

i tell you that preparation of css is not a big deal,,,,,,,,
you jus require to study only 5 to 6 hours on the daily basis and at the end of the day, you wil be standing on the top of the sky.......

i was bit confuse about the css exams and heared lots of negative stuff regarding the css exams etc that appearing and clearing css exams are only about the matter of money and references and contacts......

But folks, i tell you honestly that it is the only direct path and gateway to explore your abilities and potential in right directions, CSS is the only best thing in which the individual's abilities are judge by the right people. So that's why now i prefer the preparation and planning attempt of CSS exams 2010 over the job because why i sell my self , my talent, my potential abilities so cheaply to other people in term of getting job of 15 to 20 thousand Rs /- in which i only get a small amount and nothing else.

What about English Literature?

Hello Junaid,
I just checked your profile. I am also MBA (Fin.) and MA in English. So why you didnt choose English lieterature in optional. You combine is surprising.

Junaid Ilyas Monday, May 04, 2009 04:30 PM

@ Zash

i haven't checked the Css's syllabus of Eng lit,,,,,,,,,, when i will check then i will decide about it..........

what is a strange combination of subjects i have ? tell me

saeedlaghari Monday, May 04, 2009 06:12 PM

I suggest to all the CSS aspirants that whatever you want to do regarding CSS, then go ahead. Don't ask questions from anybody about to join a academy, selecting of optional subjects etc. Different people have different ideas, so they will make you confussed. Therefore, I suggest you that meet only Senior CSP officers. They can guide you perfectely.
