Default Dear Afzal

Assalam u Aleykum:
I don't think so that higher education qualification helps u to pass the css exam. The css exam is itself a field for specialization in daily knows-how’s, science, history, and many more subjects. May b the subject in which u have your M.phil or PhD, is related to css subjects like inter.rela, pol scie, Law, Economics, or eng litera; in that case it really helps you in the exam, and interview hope your Q is answered .

Atif Rana

Higher education does have merits as well as demerits for CSS attempt.

Merits: Our faculty of mind improves; we can see things in a broader perspective in other words a mature analysis can be done. During these 4 to 6 years one accumulates a list of experiences and various situational analyses. That helps a lot in attempting papers and ultimately facilitates in psychological test and in final interview. I have some experience of interviews where mostly interview panel is tilted towards your masters field and if you are from working class some questions are floated in that direction. That situation brings you edge over other candidates because most often you are well equipped in that field and probably you can convince panel very well. And of course, like dr.atifrana comments that some of disciplines are covered in optional papers which is an other favorable point. God forbid if you can't succeed in CSS you have varity of options opened for job market.

Demerits: Higher education consumes a greater portion of your time which is surely on the cost of your pure CSS preparation schedule. In this way one can't assign that much time, concentration and commitment to CSS preparation as compared to graduate / bachelors certificate holders. Finally masters degree holder is under time pressure as he is left with lesser time keeping in view his age constraint. Higher education hits your seniority position also. Graduate candidates attempt CSS in early age and if they succeed to achieve their target they become senior to those who attempt with delay due to completion of masters courses.

Thanks Mr.Raz for responding my query. That helped me lot in understanding the merits and demerits of higher educational qualifications.I am of 21 years and looking forward to apear in the next css exams.Actually i am in delimma whether to appear in the next css exams or to complete my Masters.I have been preparing for the exam for last two years.I have been top position holder in a competitve exam of BPS-14 POST.But I know that Css is quite differnt and difficult as compared to any other competitive exam.

Thanks a lot again for this usrful guidence.

Hi forum fellows!
I am junior member of the forum.I have found it very informative form.
I want to ask that is graduate and master degree holders are treated differently while assining the merit in css other than their score in written test.Simply are higher educational degrees holders preffered or selection is done purely on merit and score in written exam.
In fact i am asking because i am gtaduate and want to apply for next css exam.I am confident to do well in exam but i am in confusion do my low educational qualifications effect the merit other than score in written exam
Kindly inform me.
