Default Does CSS really worth the struggles and pains??

Well, this caption may look weird, but I am sure the replies will help many others like me. I am an engineer, currently working in a multi-national company. I had this wish to couple managerial skills to the the technical ones, through an MBA course preferably from abroad but these days, i am almost obsessed with CSS stuff. I want to give it a serious go once so that, i dont live with a regret of not trying it out. CSS has serious demands of resolute attitude, immense stamina to do the course work and development of exceptional appetite for studies!! All these are easier said than done! I ponder if CSS really worth putting in ultimate efforts for days and months and whether it offers the best of professional life and satisfaction? I dont intend to degrade the Superior Services but am asking with a clean heart to get qualitative acquaintance with this profession. The answers may act as appetizers for many more AND may also help many others to grip suitable profession. Over to you seniors!!

every profession has its own positive and negative sides. it depends upon that what type of satisfaction you are looking for because for each individual things are different in which he feels himself satisfied.

if we look at pay/money and other facilities offer more lucrative packages. These private organizations provide best working environment and you get worth which you deserve.

But if one joins civil services the pay , money packages are poor as compared to business organizations. But what here you find is the authority. this authority makes you enable to serve the humanity and citizens of your country. good decisions of an officer can change the life of millions people. you become the policy maker of this country.
there are problems too for them. political pressure is high and a very tense environment prevails all around.

so all this depends upon the choice of one. if any one have appetite of authority and want to serve humanity css is the best choice.

stay blessed.

There are some people including me who are mad after CSS because of social prestige. No doubt all other professions have their own scope for the mentioned factor but "CIVIL SERVICES KI BAT HI KUCH OR HE." Money, working conditions, facilities, power, authority is not the end but some time challanging tasks of this service may make you proud in even struggling for it. may be odd but true.

Css is no doubt an outstanding profession, you will come to realize it on the very day of declaration of result, it has matchless social prestige, recognition, sense of achievement, satisfaction, honour and the feeling that you have passed a competitive exam without any reference and at your own, is undefinable. Here I am not saying that all professions other than civil services are bad or worthless, but being a part of superior services has its unique place and importance.

As far as hard work and taking pains is concerned, the pains of one time if giving respect and honour for whole life, then the deal is not bad

Much has been said by the friends. Here, i would like to add a few more things. CSS is a kind of service that gives you number of satisfactory options.
1 your self assessment that how much and with what frequency you can do the things and can achieve the gaol.
2 it gives you a proud feeling of being selected on pure merit.
3 As worker of private organization or even being a wealthy person you can not have that much options available for the service of people.
4 This job gives you a chance to be a part of history in Pakistan's struggle of development.
5 As far as privileges are concerned, definetly it matches with any other lucrative job.
And the last but very effective the opinion made by a friend above, I will agree with the words one of the posts above, CSS KI JOB KI BAT HE KUCH AUR HAI.. and that kuch aur bat is because of all the reasons discussed above.

Saba Ali its very positive and helpful that u have asked
and all the worthy members who posted beautiful suggestions
.
I am undergoing the same situation, myself being computer engineer, doing job in an NGO for the last six months, now flowing with the wave, applied for MS in different universities....... got admission letter in hand of one uni........... but still there is some little spark or something like that pricking me all the day trying to make me remember all the day that I should attempt for CSS

while if i stick along with my field there are/maybe (unknown) percentage of chances of going outside this country having job there comfortably that requires years of struggle (experience and skills)... If I decide to give CSS then its the prestige , honor and status awaits,

IM STILL IN THINKING STATE

but is 6-7 months sufficient time for clearing CSS ???????

So finally someone who falls in the same category. Well, i think 6 months are well enough. Lets take the exam this time to avoid regrets later. The decision to join or not comes afterwards.

well it is a good question to ask...
Truth be told...
CSS is good for those who are at Nach in hierarchy of needs theory but does not pay those who want to earn money as through legitimate means you cannot earn enough...but still you earn enough to make both ends meat easily...i want to say a lot but let it be reserved for some future time...
