Default Continue Or Discontinue Job

Before taking advice from you people , briefly , I want to share whole scenario , which will make you in a good position to apprehend my problem and give appropriate advice . Basically , I am hailed from Karachi , recently in Dec , 2014 , I have completed my engineering in Automotive from NED University Karachi . Since my childhood , I have penchant for joining civil services , in this regard, I am preparing for CSS examination since third year of engineering . When I was in final year , I applied against job in Forest Department for the post of Forest Range Officer (BPS -16) which was conducted under the auspices of Sindh Public Service Commission . For which competitive examination - two compulsory and two optional papers - taken place . In written exam result I excelled . Subsequently , after interview I got selected . In advertisement of aforementioned post, there were condition according to which selected candidates will join service after two year of training ( BSc. Forestry) from Pakistan Forest Institute Peshawar (PFI) . In the mean time , stipend will be given . Soon after medical and other formalities I joined training in late January . I thought , during these two year I will prepare for CSS . After almost two months of training I came to know , environment in PFI is not conducive in which one can prepare for CSS . In this context , I ponder whether to continue it or not . Furthermore , I have taken advice from relative , friends and family who admonish that CSS is full of uncertainties , your degree shelf life will end if you only prepare for CSS and after finishing training I could take long leave , in which preparation could be carry out . In introspection , I think of my ultimate goal which is to surpass CSS then why to put it on the back burner ? There is an adage , success is beyond risk , why to follow walk on eggs approach . In addition to it , sometime I feel , I am going astray from my path , why to wait for two years . Nevertheless , there is no pressure from kith and kin , final decision will be taken by me . At this juncture , what should I do continue training or abandon it . Thanks in anticipation.

Continue your job and training. After training you can easily attempt CSS. Your relatives rightly say that there are uncertainties in CSS. Don't quit your current job for the one which you are not sure to get.

You should complete your training first and then get leave for your CSS preparation.

In my humble opinion, you should continue with your job. As life is full of uncertainties it is better not to risk your carrier. It will not do any harm If you continue with your job and apear afterwards in exams. But God forbids if you could not qualify the exam it will creat problem, I am not questioning your abilities but saying just because risk is involved. May Allah help you
