Subject selection
Assalam o alaikum dear members. I need your guidance regarding subject selection. I'm planning to appear in 2017 exam. I'm presently serving in PAF as Flight Lieutenant. I have done BSc Aerosciences related to Aircraft, so i have no background knowledge of business studies, mathematics, political sciences etc. I have option for direct interview but i want to appear in written exam. Time is very short i think. Kindly suggest me suitable options for subject combination. Thank you so very much.

Choose indo pak history ,, some how u know about it ,,
Gender studies ,, doesn't relative to business. Any regional language Go with Sociology, it has simple topics to cover u can prepare this without any bus. Background, , Chose International Relations it would be challenging for you but it is scoring 200 marks,, And besides of choosing 2 more subjects, it would be better to go with this 1 only,,, |

First do tell me Sir what is direct interview?? Now coming to your question, 1- Opt IR. It is interesting, related with other subjects, gives you the world view, or it is somehow compulsory now. 2-you have wide range of subjects like sociology, philosophy, indopak, psychology, governance, tpum,I.la w,muslim law and others.you can opt from this range easily according to your strength. 3-First step of subject selection is , one should focus on syllabus. If it is interesting then opt it. 4- After this one should have past papers. Do focus on each and every question then if one realise that one can tackle this paper , opt it. 5- Finally start study. 6- First make plan for preparation, stick to this plan focus on most important topics then less important. During preparation make bullet points( it is highly recommended). After this try to solve past question ,get it checked with any senior or teacher(preference). Wish you a very good luck (y) Any correction highly appreciated Sent from my Nokia_X using Tapatalk

As far as your worries on subject selection are concerned, you had better go through the list of all optional subjects. There must be a number of subjects that would be intriguing to you. All the aspirants of CSS have to study 3 or 4 subjects that are new to them. Therefore, the thought that the optional subjects would be new to you shouldn't bog you down! The subjects you opt should be scoring as well. For instance international law would obviously be more scoring than sociology. However, there are two ways to score marks... Either opt for subjects that have shown positive scores in last year's exam or go for the subjects of your choice and ace the same by writing exceptionally well. Being unique while you atempt the paper is the key to score high. For someone who got selected in the PAF and is a bachelors in science, time is aplenty. Don't worry! Select your optionals wisely and start preparing. Css is more about handling and utilising your academic knowledge and grip on current affairs than rote learning. It is all about clarity of thought and concept. Good luck!

Innocent heart
Direct interview is a way of inducting officers in each batch from the armed forces. They don't have to go through the written exam and appear before the panel for an interview merely. After getting selected, they get allocated to the top three groups only: PAS, FSP, PSP.
