Subject Analysis for Engineers
This will be my second time attempting the CSS. I gave the last CSS in a hurry will like 40 days of prep, and I did fairly bad in the subject I least expected. For background, I a graduate of mechanical Engineering from NUST batch 2018.
My subject selection last year was: 1) IR: I did fairly well in this subject 2) US History: I did well on this too 3) Muslim law: I could not substantial answers, the subject matter that I read was too little for 20 marks questions 4) Physics: I did fine in part 1 but did pathetically in part 2. This time I am stuck with deciding on these options: 1) IR 200 2) US History 100 3) International law 100 4) Sociology 100 5) Criminology 100 6) Physics 200 I require insight from seniors and fellows who attempting the same and might have guidance for me. |

illusion of physics
dear mechanical engineer,
I am sharing you personal experience,, physics is an illusion for university engineers in CSS, because we never studied physics upto that level which CSS paper II requies,, 2nd, law subjects can be covered if you have better taste of current affairs , international relations and history,,, again its better to have political science instead of Physics and MAthematics as optional of 200 marks. less prepration can guarantee more marks than ENGINEERING SUBJECTS.

IR is fine but again it requires analytic method to study and write down in exam,, just remembring history (as most of the helping books are featured with) is not enough to go through,,
never go for small notes or headings to fill the pages,, go for analytical and reasoning skills to elaborate any idea in your exam. IR has problems because its 2nd paper fully depends upon your current IR knowledge.. no history or small bullet notes work. wish you all the best
