Dear!English lit is a low scoring subject,dont opt it in CSS.....If you are interested in psychology then go for it,no matter you have studied it before or not as in Css you have to cover 12 different subjects...
Regards

Default English Literature is best subject to opt

it depends on a your capability, interest and passion for the subject
Eng Lit. is scoring subject, just syllabous is lenghty and that it requires logical intrepretation i.e one must read latest interpretations of the books prescribed in the syllabus, this will help our writing material, and thew textual lines(which unfortunately , majority of us hardly bother), must be a strong part of our answers.
I love English Literature but still I beleive that it is low scoring, even then I am going for that.

@Sadia

hello...I am also M.A English and i have not opted this subject despite my
solid background in English and as a student of English literature.

I did not opted it becaz this subject is low scoring.you will know it only if you
compare it with other subjects.
thats why i did not opted it.

In masters too despite our best attempt we dont get much good marks in it.
this subject is like this.yes there are some people who score good in it but
they are very few.

I think u should not take a risk by opting it.
choose others like Psychology,Geography or Islamic history.They are good.

Good Luck at this important stage.

@ Sadia.

English lit. is a very low scoring subject. In CSS you have to score rather than just pass a subject, so in order to be allocated on Punjab domicile you need to score big. I would advise you to go for psychology instead of English litt.

Yes! It is a common perception that English Literature is a low scoring subject, and seniors usually advise the aspirants not to opt it. But, it doesnt mean that u cant make it. There are many CSP Officers who opted and did well in Eng Literature. If u have interest in English Literature and have done Masters with good thorough study, then u can do it. But, it will take more time to grasp it as compared to other optional subjects. Gud Luck.

Default thanx to all of you for your suggestions.

so most of people are of view eng is low scoring subject,i think it would b as every subject has differnt checking criteria.
@zash
u r rite many of us dont give our own interpretations n qoutes from text,this is surely a reason of low scores in eng.
@annie
thanx alot.yes i love it n i have passion for it.i just started my prepration n want to appear in next exam,it seems easy to cover paper 2 as compared to psychology.bt almost every one suggests not to opt.
well i have to decide after due consideration.
@UNSOLVED MYSTERY
THANX its gud to know that there are many CSPs who opted eng literature.
if they have done v can also do it.
thanx alot every body
