Seniors please help about marks criteria
AOA
I want to inquire about the marks criteria of examiners.....I would like to ask the experienced members please share with us what kind of marking is done by the examiners. Is that strict????? or very strict????? i have heard that one hardly gets 7-8 marks in precis.....Is that true???? Moreover, If question is attempted in perfect manner, how many marks one can expect in papers like CA and PA....?????? I have been a student of science through out my career and have scored exceptional marks in all exams(Alhamdulillah). Now it confuses me that how examiner is going to weigh my arguments in subjects like PA,CA,ENG, and IST....I am totally blank, as i have never got my work checked from experienced people, though i have guidance of few Experienced people are in better position to guide......... |

AoA.
Scoring trend depends on the type of the examiner. There is no 1+1 = 2 formula according to which we can judge how well will we score in our papers. For example in css 2007 even average students scored around 110-115 in History of India and Pakistan, but this year even brilliant students have found it hard to score even 100. So there is no hard and fast rule. Pakistan Affairs and Current Affairs and generally considered as low scoring. Even 50-55 marks are considered as brilliant in these. Last year Mr. Khalil Bhutta ( 2nd position and his mark sheet is also available on this forum ) scored 65 and 66 in these subjects. The main reason of low scores in these subjects is that majority of the students produce similar kind of answers and that the answers lack innovation. So the tip to get good marks in these subjects is to have an indept knowledge and try to show some innovation in your replies, that may be by using quotation, dividing your answer in parts etc. There must be something different to attract the examiner and which other candidates lack. Same is the case with islamiyat, some years candidates just barely manage to pass and in css 2007 some even scored 84 in islamiyat. So i would suggest not to worry and prepare as much as you can, as you do not have many days left in the exam Best of Luck
