Thumbs up Letter by Syed Ahmed Fawad

Just after written portion of CE 08, i had sent emails to a couple of css qualifers to know where my fault was since i had failed in getting aggregate like many other candidates... So , i wrote a letter to one of our fellow member who replied me at his earliest. I found that this letter was written from heart of a true competitor, who travelled this thorny road to success with forebearance, who failed but didnot fall...this is an inspirational letter for css aspirants who dream of achiving smthing for the good cause of serving pakistan...hats off to them.

name of the candidate : Syed Ahmed Fawad SINDH (RURAL)
merit number 112
seat number 2277

he is in top five in rural sindh. bro! best of the luck for ur future goals.

orginal text of the letter is given :

Quote:
Dear Asghar,
AOA,
Thanks 4 Compliments.
Sir, my experience in all three attempts enforces the fact that its luck, fate or destiny, which prevails as significant factor in this exam. I failed twice before getting through in final attempt. Still the interview separates me from the success. my first attempt of CSS (2006) came in wake of my success in PCS. I expected an easy ride. to my utter surprise, I failed in both English Papers (with aggregate Score of 570). It was my first failure in life. Immediately afterwards, I set my eyes on next attempt in 2007. I reviewed my performance, found the grey areas, consulted my peers and devise a new approach for next attempt. I wanted to improve my faulty English and raise my overall score simultaneously. I had a serious problem with spellings ( Few friends and a professor of English noticed this!!!). Moreover my expression required a qualitative change/improvement. I wrote a few essays and solved all English(Precis & comprehension) papers from 1990 to 2006. Moreover, I attempted most of questions for rest of papers too for same period (1990-2006). (I focused attempting n cramming all MCQS, then I attempted questions which were repeated at least three time n prepared a brief outline for rest of questions). I got all these checked from my friends who had cleared CSS. I even managed 2 have one review of all subjects before the exam (for the first time in my entire life). This game me the required confidence for my 2nd attempt. But in the end all of this meant nothing as I failed 2 pass English (Precis & Comprehension) paper- scoring 32 marks. I managed 2 score more than 700 marks in written portion. I felt DEFEATED. Sensing the failure in last attempt, I thought to flush the entire CSS Prohibited word (Sergeant). I appeared in test for MBA in Lahore University of Management Sciences and successfully passed it and am called for studies(which now I am not joining because of CSS interview). i was not willing 2 fill the CSS admission form, my friend filled it on my part and forced me to reconsider my decision. after a lot of persuasion from them, I thought to give it a final try. However, i was short on time. When I made up my mind to appear, only two weeks were remaining. I focused only on English (precis & comprehension). in fact apart from Essay n English I did not check any other subject. I felt like appearing in the papers of university of Sindh instead of CSS. I was relaxed and content during papers, thinking whatever the outcome may be, I have to give it a final try. I do not think so my written score would be that high, it must be in the range of 630-650. i wrote all this 2 let you read my mind after my failure and find any solution. you have failed because of Aggregate. You will get through, I know, provided you have faith in Almighty, pray regularly, be focused on your preparation, find your grey areas and improve them, CSS is all about your skills of English. try 2 pass both papers on day one. rest of the papers are easy. do not try to change subjects at this stage, stick with the same subjects and review them, check past papers and attempt the questions. keep a keen eye on Current affairs and believe me your name will in that list of successful candidates. I believe I will see your name next year. BEST OF LUCK.
regards
