points mentioned above are one person's view ,he gets after listening to a lecture from usmani sb. so to make judgement about him is not fair.
yes points have nothing new to offer but for a beginner they are quite helpful.

1. Improper guidance is the main factor in failing css students.
2. Lack of hardworking.
3. Academies also play an important role in failing students. According to Sir Usmani If you want to compete in css exam, academy is not obligatory. Just rely on your abilities otherwise join good academy.
4.Deficiency in English.
5. Negligence in making their own notes.
6. Time management( more focus on one subject)
7.Reliance on substandard material.
8.Improper assesment of vernalities.
Sir Usmani is right..but some students fail to get through the exam inspite of intensive hardwork as Mr Waqar Abro mentioned...in my point of view majority of the students fail in css because of mismanagement of time..students often pay more attention towards Optional subjects instead of Compulsory..it is because students are accustomed to change their optional subject till the last moment...the best way is that they should chose best subjects and then try to stick their decision...

i agree with maha
one of statement of usmani sb told to me by one of my friend:
"for most of the candidates 80-90% of css ends on day1 of exams, this is because their other subjects are well prepared except english.another 10% depends on islamiat paper."
if we see dms of most candidates who failed to qualify we find that they failed in these 2 subjects.
moreover, candidates think that english, Pakistan affairs and current affairs are not going to give much marks. so they concentrate more on optional.
everyday science paper is a problem for many candidates who do not have a science background so they have to suffer in exams.
you will see inquiry of beginners asking ' which subjects are more scoring?'
this shows that scoring matters more. no doubt scoring matters but passing all subjects is necessary and all subjects demand time.
so what one should do :
give all subjects proper time
make notes keeping in view syllabus, past papers and trends
practice past papers
make outlines of their notes
do writing practice daily and if possible get it checked
only one knows his weakness and must work on it

dear,Every teacher will tell you his/her own opinion about css..if u visit sir Hammad(Officers Academy)he will tell you different things, similalrly,Sir Saleem(Toppers Academy),Sir Shahid(Kips Academy),Sir Qamar(Nics academy)have their own point of views regarding css exam.Every student,no matter,he is weak in English or not, private or regular should visit Academy for the sake of best guidance..Remember teachers can only guide you,its upto the candidate how he prepares his subjects?...so dont be confused,Sir Usmani is no doubt a best teacher but you should try to experience everything by your ownself...

In addition to that many of the facts and figures provided by Usmani Sb during the preparation of interviews were wrong. When i contacted candidates visiting Usmani Sb, i witnessed blunders in economic data.
I thing one should not rely on anyone except ownself.
If you fail, you can blame yourself not someone else.
