Thumbs up Marks in 1st attempt

I have received emails by some members who want to know my marks in first attempt (Dec 2003).

Optionals:

Business Administration 67
Statistics 57
Journalism 44
Indo Pk History 100 (Paper I = 53 & Paper II = 47)
Int Rel 57

Compulsory:

Essay 40
English 55
General Knowledge (EDS + CA+ PA) 128/300
Islamiat 47

Total 596

I missed the eligibility for interview by 4 marks otherwise I had 33 in each optional and 40 in compulsory. If I had got 44 in essay (instead of 40) or 51 in Islamiat (instead of 47) and above 200 in interview then I might have been a CSP today. Inshaallah I will qualify this time. Do pray for me.

I never said my first attempt as failure or bad experience instead I always considered it as a good and learning experience, an experience that was foundation of my second attempt.

Salams borther,
My prayers are with you. May Allah grant you success this time and make your wish come true.
Regards,
Azam Shah

Hie,
Hope you are fine.
Brother I have opted almost same subjects as yours. Please if its possible then guide me for Compulsory Subjects, IR, Indo Pak History and Public Administration.
What books and notes you consulted for these? Also it would be nice of you if you give me your contact number or something so that I could contact you and collect some advices and notes. May Allah bless you for this favor.
Looking forward.
Regards,
Azam Shah

Smile I m pleased to know

Dear Azam

I m pleased to know that you are planning to join Civil Services.

In my first attempt I opted for Indo Pk History but this time (CSS 2005) I have not opted it. My objective is not just to pass but to score high marks so I opted for 6 subjects (all 100 marks). In first attempt I found that 100 marks subjects are easy to cover and score high marks. If you are interested to see my optionals then read my introduction. This is my personal experience that 100 marks subjects are easy. I am not suggesting that everyone should adopt this strategy.

In an earlier post I informed that for my second attempt I did my 50 % preparation from online sources (specifically http://en.wikipedia.org). This is a wonderful resource and I it found extremely useful.

For Indo Pk History you must visit www.storyofpakistan.com

Read other threads posted by me on this forum. You will find most of them to be quite informative and useful.
