Important Notice(suggestion)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Salam to every one, I want to discuss that i am planning for competation exams (CSS).I have recently completed by BS(CS) and currently doing job in a software house.First of all i am confused about my optional subjects. The subjects that i have decided are Computer Science,Accounting and Auditing,International Relations and (Indo-Pak History or Islamic History and Culture or International Relations).I want to ask that are these subjects are scoring ones and as i am doing job so i am planning to appear for exams in 2008,what should be my schedule of study on daily basis.Another problem that i am facing that i feel that my english is weak so how can i improve my english in this period. What do u people suggest is this period(more than 1 year) is enough for preparation as i also want to continue with my job. I shall be very thankful to u if anybody can suggest me some thing specially seniors Regards Salman |

Wsalam
Welome to the css forum. I believe the subjects u selected for u are ok. U have to select from IR, indo pak historyand Islamic history ... so i must say that IR is gud coz it helps u out in Current affairs too. Islamic hisotry is helpful in islamiat too. Same is the case with Indo pak hisotry, it is pretty helpful for Pak affairs. Decision is purely yours. Let me tell u that ppl dont preffer Comp Sci even if they have studied it on masters level. I dont know the appropriate rationale but hat is true. U dont need to leave ur job for css, if u are palnning to appear in css 2008. u can have some vacations near the exams. All d best Regards

Mr Malik,
You may like to take IR as suggested by Impossible and iwould advise that you better take Islamic History instead of Indian oneas few of my freinds got 140+ in Islamic history although this is not guarantee that you will also until you excel in the subject.I would also advise you to opt Computer science for you are after all bachelors at it.Just scan the syllabus and hope you would surely go for it. You can of course carry on with your job till one month before the exam and then get 2 months leave.give 16+ hours to studies 1 month before the exam. For now, start reading syllabus and give at least 2-3 hours to studies a day. Also carry your books to office and try to read something during free time,it would help you maintain your consistency and kindle the hope and desire to go for css and acheive it come what may. Also try to make short notes at least a question or two a day.It would lighten your burden and improve your confidence and help you a lot lot during exam days. To improve English, just subscribe dawn or The News tommorow and make files of factual or conceptual articles by cutting and putting them into folders. Also keep a diary with you while reading newspaper for taking out few factual liners or a tidy argument or comment over some national or international issue/conflict.And yes dont forget noting down difficult words as well for enhacing voc. wish u the best Maa salam |

Salam,
I am really thankful to impossible and sara_khan for the kind advises, but after reading these i am really confused whether to go for computer science because of ur these quotes 1. "I would also advise you to opt Computer science for you are after all bachelors at it.Just scan the syllabus and hope you would surely go for it." by sara_khan 2. Let me tell u that ppl dont preffer Comp Sci even if they have studied it on masters level. I dont know the appropriate rationale but hat is true. by impossible regards Salman |

May be ppl avoid to opt Comp sci coz u cant get high marks in it. Another reason is its hectic and lenghty syllabus.
Regards

Salman!
i would like to advise u to ve a look into urself. Empower ur self knowledge and by using this confidence u can suggest urself only abt the subjects u might want to opt. coz u know the basic thing abt this exam is to ve beleive in ur own self. we can surely help u in this regard but, we r not as familiar as u r to ur own self remember that. start ur thinkin music n suggest which r the subjects which interest u most and abt which u ve learned a few important thingz. then carry on ur struggle. May ALLAH ebe ur guide
