Kashmiri,s ans Samao,s selective reading and common sense.Make diagrams in papers as much as possible.

Sorry,dont know abt Multan,i prefer to take tuition individually rather in academy if one has little bit know how abt css.

Better go with punjabi or regional language in spite of Muslim law.
Read and write as much as you can and take tuition classes from senior English teacher who is teaching css students

many csp,s have shared their email i.d,s..it is not an easy task to guide through emails.better call them,it will b more convenient.


I have suggested in my previous posts on this thread.go through it.

Current affairs can be prepared by own.Untill u dont have grip on issues,outlines have no benefit.Start reading dawn,monthly Jahangir world times,safdar mehmood,s digest and ISPR,s magazine etc.

Dont know abt sir bukhari but kashif sahib is not good at all,sorry to say but i shared what i felt,i went there only for 1 day.

I am aspiring for CE-2014. May be my question would seem little ridiculous to some people. But as I am new to CSS, I want to know what do this 40th common and 39th common kind of prefixes mean?
Pls also guide me whether can a person of MBA background do well in geography? As, what I feel, geography is very technical subject and not very easy to be prepared by person having no geography background. I am doing a full time job so it’s not convenient for me to have tuition of geography. Can I do it on my own? I have done MBA from Punjab University and stood among top 5 positions of my session there.
Pls also guide whether geography is a scoring subject? So far my optional set is as following; pls guide me whether should I make any change in it.

Dear your question is not ridiculous at all, as you are new to this forum, so these terms are alien for you. after passing CSS examination, some candidates are allocated in different occupational groups depending on the number of vacancies available. Then these allocated candidates go through training in Civil Services Academy Lahore and that training program in known as " Common training Program" OR CTP. 40th common means that this is 40th session /batch of common training program.
Its nor necessary that you must have some background of Geography, most of the candidates have no background of various subjects, still they manage it very easily.
Your Optional subjects combination is descent, if you replace public ad by business ad, as you have knowledge of this subject and its also high scoring. Your last subject which you haven't decided, you can go for Journalism, or any regional language.
