Default A wake-up call to CSS aspirants

Dear all,

I am writing this little piece as a wake-up call to those who aspire to sit in the upcoming exams. This is just to give them a thrust to realize what they have done till now for what they dream to be. The dream, to be a CSP, when comes to mind snatches their sleep, fills them with immense energy, but with the passage of time and change of environment in the CSS-world this dream becomes filthy of rust. Therefore, the rust must be cleaned off to shine at the time of your assessment or to say the exams. This cleaning is a process that requires some time very like to another process called as the preparation. And preparation is what I want to talk about.

Let me tell you a truth first__preparation leads to confidence and confidence leads to success. That means in order to succeed one has to start with preparation. Have you pondered over your preparation status till date? Are you prepared well enough for your upcoming attempt? Are you following your plans or still waiting for the right time to come?

You must have heard about an infamous and most appealing line: time and tide wait for none. They both keep going and unstoppable. Those who travel with these time-waves and tides reach their desired destinations. The journey they embark definitely challenges them at every moment; they have to face the intense waves, winds and whirling waters at each moment of this travel. Only those who have desire, determination and dedication sail through all such hardships. However, those who only stare or wish to reach the other end but hate to put up the ingredients required are left with nothing but regret, envy, frustration and strong emotions of failure that would always kill their confidence for the rest of their life. Their ignorance at this stage will always pinch them in future and remind them that they did injustice with their self. They had the time, courage and capability, what they needed was seriousness, hard work and consistency of efforts. People who lack these inputs have to look for excuses in the end. And as a justification of the failure, these excuses can convince other people around but not inner self. The self will always keep you hunting for it knows the actual reason and that reason is you yourself not the circumstances, not FPSC’s policies, not any other thing but you and only you!

So, why to let this all happen when everything is in your hands? Why not to invest time and efforts and cherish for the rest of the life? Why to waste more time over just thinking to start? Why not to gear up for preparation? Have anyone stopped you from doing so? No one, right? Then put your belts tight, tie yourself up and begin with the race. Bring the books, pick up your pen, clean your dirty mini-library and start reading the thick and boring books and tiny words. You will fear at this stage; you will fear from essay, expansion or précis and the facts & figures from other subjects will frighten you. But you have to face it and take it as a challenge because challenge is a successful revenge from fear.

Therefore, do not wait anymore; just take off from this stage to reach the next stage which is of confidence. This will come with consistency of your efforts. I always emphasize on consistency because if you discontinue your studies for even say a month and when you come back to the shelf, it will look like you have to start from the scratch. This feeling is what keeps you away from starting again. So don’t discontinue from this stage, go on and on to reach the final stage of success. Where you can shout it loudly that ‘Yes, I did it. I made my parents feel proud of my achievements! I am a CSP now!’ The echo of this sound will hit your ear drums and that will be a moment of extreme pleasure you would always love to retain.

In the end, I wish you luck in all your endeavors and pray that you achieve what you desire for good reasons.

Regards,

The answer to your question is not so easy to say either YES or NO. It depends on so many factors. You have to evaluate yourself keeping in view the pre-requisites for this exam.

Do you have sound expressive skills with the correct use of grammar?
Are you following or well versed with the national and international affairs?
Do you have any previous knowledge that could augment most of your optional subjects?
Can you follow a proper study schedule?
How many chances do you have at your disposal?

And many other similar questions that you have to ask yourself. If the answer to them all is YES, then go ahead with the upcoming attempt. Otherwise work on the above domains and prepare for the next attempt.
