Going on language depends on your seniority in the batch. to determine the seniority of the officer in MOFA we sum each officers scores in CSS Exam +
CSA Exam + FSA Exam + FPO Exam. Then a merit list is made. if you are the top of the seniority list you'll go to language of your choice. if you are at the bottom of the group them you'll go to language which is left.

One thing more, each year Ministry decides which languages will be offered to the officers it is the responsibility of the traing and CP section of the MOFA and it is logical as well. if I want to learn Dutch language but it is spoken only in Netherlands and in Netherlands everyone knows English too. Then ministry will not waste tax payers money on the language. On the other hand, if Ministry is offered a Japanese language scholarship and in japan people donot speak english, then the language will be offered to the officers.

Mostly languages which are offered are 5 UN languages + Japanese+ German and Turkish (But it is not fixed).

Can a senior FSP officer say BPS-21/22 be made secretary of other govt departments where usually PAS officers serve? Is there any little chance of horizontal mobility for FSP officers?

Hello,
I am new to this forum and have a query. What about the country to which an FSP officer is posted? Does it depend on merit among the FSP officers or is it completely up to the ministry? Waiting for reply. Thanks

I did my undergraduate from Turkey and I have excellent command of turkish language,
I want to ask, In foreign services if I already know a foreign language(turkish in my case) does it help to get posted there ?
