Default What about the 2010 candidates

What about the aspirants who have passed CSS-2010 and wil be allocated seats this year. If we are given the choice of Income Tax Group (because we were given ITG instead of IRS in the initial form), will we be adjusted in the IRS in the future or should we be approaching the IRS from the Pakistan Customs Services

Don't know much about how things go about in allocation matters but the preference form we filled before our psychological test had the option IRS and there was no mention if ITG. I hope that helps answering your concern.

Income Tax Group (ITG) has become defunct and is replaced by IRS. As far as I remember FPSC mentioned IRS in the advertisement of CSS 2010. However if they had not, then anyone who will be allocated to ITG will automatically be inducted in IRS. This happened with us - 2009 batch. Our Offer letters have clearly stated that ITG is a dying cadre and no fresh appointment can be made in it, therefore you will be inducted in IRS....

Thats interesting to know Umair.

As far as CSS 2010 candidates are concerned, for those who have passed their written examination, on the day of their interview, they will also be given a final preference form in which they can revise their preferences before the interview. I am advised that this preference form will explicitly mention IRS instead of Income Tax Group and Pakistan Customs Service instead of Customs & Excise Group.

That will be really Good.

Those of 38th Common who were allocated Custom and Excise Group were given option to join IRS....
