PAS, PSP and FSP, apart from promotion, are normally opted on the basis of

1. Perks & privileges
2. Apparent social status and protocols
3. Field postings (Foreign in case of FSP)

Few offer facilities while other offer promotion. It is up to the person what he opts and on what criteria.
How to find such information -perks, privileges, postings, promotions- about different groups

Its a matter of personal priorities. Its not about good or bad, but its about your compatibility. I am an individualistic guy so a field service is better for me than a desk one. For example, I personally believe that for me, Railways is better than Accounts.

However, based on the general criteria of promotions, perks, nuisance, diversification, work environment, legacy of Cadre, things might be otherwise.

In terms of perks, nuisance and legacy, IRS is better. In terms of promotion, diversification and work environment, OMG is ahead.

So you cannot say it with absolute certainty in this case

Dear, I am just talking about the charm of IRS. Its assistant commissioner tag which is far more attractive than section officer.

PMS, plus if you give choice of Punjab everytime in IRS, PAAS, Railways, Postal, you can remain in Punjab.

Moreover in CTG, OMG, IG, you can remain in Islamabad alone if you feel like.

Well, as far as tag and double pay is concerned, I agree. Rest regarding charm, we can have a separate discussion .
