Detention of alleged members of JeM
Pakistan as assured all possible cooperation for the investigation of Pathankot attack. In progress of this investigation,Govt claimed to have detained alleged members of the banned outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad.The PM's statement reiterates that they want to ensure Foreign secretary talks meant to kick off Comprehensive Bilateral Dialogue can take place as scheduled on 15 Jan,2016.In the current situation, one can just hope that these talks will go as planned or may be after a minor delay.
The recent statement from Indian foreign office suggests that the involvement of PM Nawaz, high level diplomacy and military leadership from Pakistan will certainly pay off. But the question is when a group was banned thirteen years before, how they were so stable to plan and execute such sophisticated attack on an airbase across the boarder? Are we incompetent to keep an eye on such elements and their activities like we were in case of Osama bin Laden's presence in abbotabad?Or we are just pretending to be innocent? The PMO statements says that offices of JeM were also traced and sealed. But why was the outfit was still able to operate offices on you soil? Are these banned bodies are tricking law enforcement agencies by just changing their names or regions?Have they gone under ground for some time to reconcile their strength and manpower? Are they going to reappear more strongly? These questions must need a strong justification from military and civilian authorities that how these masses are rooming freely on our land preaching their outrageous beliefs. Law enforcement agencies and military leadership now has to face this challenge to adopt sustainable and meaningful measures to ensure the long term dismantling of such militant groups. firm actions must be taken against the alleged elements if their involvement is proven. |
