Default The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Human Rights…???

UN celebrated the 60th anniversary of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights amidst the continuous devaluation of the Human through wars, terrorist attacks, killings of innocents, poverty, cultural and social discriminations and so many such evils that have broken the chain of universal brotherhood and the sense of humanity.

Even after such long period of time, all the articles of human rights stand inactive and completely opposed. Not to speak of al l the articles, analyzing only one of such articles presents the true picture and effectiveness of the declaration

Article 3 of “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” UN, clearly states: “Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.”

United Nations, which is supposed to be the benefactor of all humans in the world having framed some universal principles for standard human life on the globe. All the nations coming under the flag of UN have also agreed to practice the rules and regulations of UN in order to establish civilized nations and make this whole world a place of Peace and Security. They all are supposed to abide by the international laws.
On the other side of the picture, when we look for practical application of such laws, principles or charters, we face a gloomy picture. There one can find not even a single state to really adopt the lengthy sheets of the standards. We restrict our focus only on the above cited article of UN declaration for Human rights to see how it is being respected and esteemed all around the world and how humans are given freedom to enjoy their RIGHTS.
The above cited article elaborates the basic human rights i.e. Life, Liberty and Security. Life, a natural gift to man from God, having vast range of colors and beauty, has to be safely and gently handled. Life, a collection of divine power and heavenly qualities, is worthy of being appreciated and valued. Whenever there is breath, there is life. But when one’s breaths are incarcerated, one is sure to die. It means for life liberty is a pre-requisite. Liberty has many forms: liberty of life, liberty of speech, liberty of movement, liberty of expression, liberty of liberty…etc. An other important thing for human survival is Security. One needs confirmation of protection for one’s life, asset, honor, liberty and every thing else.

We need not any professional research to find the real face of human values and dignity. Just turn your eyes around your own locality. Whatever the scenario you see, the living style and condition of common man, the same is the picture of all humans living round the globe. Apart from the grass root level population, who living on meager resources lead a miserable and distorted life, the people of middle class and even somewhere first class, are devoid of all basic human values and rights. Not a single standard is being obeyed or followed. Man is crying for even the basic necessities for living.
Life is captured in the wires of fear and terror. They are unknown to the term of “LIFE”. Living in the atmosphere of insecurity and mental and physical prison, man has become helpless. He cannot even ask for his genuine basic rights. Such a violation of international laws and unavailability of practice of these principles is a clarion call for instant action by the regulatory authorities.

Not to speak of luxurious living, even millions of thousands of people on the globe of world are worried about their meal, water, clothes and shelter. Many of them die on account of poverty and diseases. In such a bruised state of man, UN’s claim of safety of Human Rights sounds a joke and absurd. On the one hand, humans are crying for protection for their survival, and on the other hand, such international organizations are proud to protect human rights.

Today, the innocent and the oppressed eyes all around the globe are waiting for the proper application of these principles that provide the security of man’s basic rights.
