I have been thinking this for quite sometimes now that we have 30-35 mins for each question. Whenever i try to write question, i cannot make it 30 mins because there is too much stuff to write on and time is just 30 mins. My writing speed is fine; the issue is of material

For example, lets say the topic is Provincial Autonomy

So i would start as

1. Introduction (Stuff about the whole topic)

2. Provincial Autonomy Past History (stuff from provincial autonomy in 3 constitutions and east Pakistan dismemberment)

3. Provincial Autonomy and 18th amendment (the recent package)

4. Is Provincialism really needed or it undermines national integrity (some critical thought)

5. Conclusion

I am mostly on the 2nd bullet when 30 mins are up. The problem is that no matter i have studies all the issues, but when i write it, there are certain thoughts coming randomly, certain things i cut, and others etc.

Bottom line, i am not able to complete the whole thing

Can any one suggest measures? My writing speed is fine.. Should i cut down the stuff? But then it would become incomplete and not a comprehensive attempt?

Such issues you will feel initially. Just keep practicing. During my preparation, i could not write more than 6 A4 size pages in the 30 mins for each question. But at the time of the papers, i easily wrote 10 pages, all of which were longer than the standard A4 page, in the stipulated 30 mins. Obviously some question could take 45 mins, others 25 mins etc. But that depends upon the question.

When you go in the exam hall, be confident and ready to put everything you know in the paper. Don't panic. Before that, practice heavily in the time you have. You don't need to worry much about the time issue right now. The exam hall is a separate environment and that naturally forces a man to write quickly.

Just focus on the quality now.

Dear Brother, to answer your question let me add something from my side. It would come as a rude surpise to me to find myself facing a question "Write a note on Provincial Autonomy" in any CSS Paper, perhaps except an English Essay one.

These days, they don't ask such question. Having said the first thing, now coming to the point. The quesiton will always be related to some aspect of Provincial Autonomy.

For Example, "Will Provincial Autonomy bring more harmony to this nation? Elaborate on the current efforts in this regard."

In reply to this question, the examiner would not expect you to describe the whole history/pedigree of Provincial Autonomy. In the first paragrah you just give a brief description of what Provincial Autonomy means and whether its good or not. in the passages following, you need to build up on your case. In my view every long question is an essay question.

Just stick to relevant details and the time is surely enough. In all my papers, I never asked for an extra sheet. I never wrote an answer lengthier than 6 pages (including in subjects like Islamiat and Indo Pak where you tend to write more). I never saw the last page and i never crossed any question.

Keep your head in the exam stay calm, think about what you want to write before penning it down. and always remember, i have not come across a person who would add his father's and grandfather's and his grand-grand father's name along with his name in the Candidate Name area. So stick to the core issue!!
