AoA, by physical cost of war, we mean the loss/ destruction of physical infrastructure, property, bridges, schools, pipelines, roads etc caused by war.
The loss incurred to Pakistan due to on-going war on terror is tremendous. Though there are no exact estimates for it, yet roughly speaking Pakistan’s economy has suffered direct and indirect losses of up to $67.93 billion since 2001 due to its role as a frontline state in the ‘war against terrorism,' with loss of $17.8 billion incurred only in last fiscal year. You may like to check following page of newspapers for rough estimates of losses caued by war on terror to Pakistan; War on terror cost Pakistan $67.9 billion | Pakistan | DAWN.COM Terror war costs rose to $17.8b in FY10-11 | Pakistan | News | Newspaper | Daily | English | Online

A Chairman of a Political Science Dept in a Public Sector Univ that i know puts the destruction of bridges, schools or any other infrastructure in financial costs. He mentioned only drone attacks in the physical costs ad asked me to mention some more. I actually was giving a viva and he disagreed to the loss of infrastructure as physical costs.... I term drone attacks as a collateral cost but he insisted i was wrong.
Still am very confused Mr. Awan

His statement ""Only drone attacks in the physical costs"" is not less thn being ridiculous. Brother, I have already shared my little knowledge on the issue. I did consult my mates, having specialization in i.r./strategic studies/political science, for the issue as well and their opinion was also same as mine. Though I have studied the things in a little professional manner, yet I have never been a student of international relations or strategic studies. But i can give you number of some mates, for which you may like to drop an email to me. Nevertheless, I will impress upon you that terming drone attacks as a collateral cost is also not a valid justification either.

physical cost meaning tangible loss. so schools bridges etc are tangible... so awan is right. drone attacks demselves r not physical costz but the damage they do to the human life and infrastructure (destruction) is physical cost. that person is stupid who said drone attacks are only physical cost.
