If question is like: 'Differentiate between the following:
a) Microscope vs Telescope
b)
c)
d)
e)
It will most probably consist of 5 parts with each part carrying 2 marks. You may write 5-6 lines for every part.

If a question is like: 'Write a note on the following scientists:
1)Al-beruni 2) Alkhawarzmi
It will be most probably be of 10 marks question with each part carrying 5 marks and you may write around 1-2 pages on a single scientist.

If a question is like: 'What is energy? What are its types? How can we get rid of energy crisis?' 1,3,6
Look for the marks distribution in such questions. The above question consists of 3 parts with each part carrying different marks. So, you should write accordingly.
