Quote:
In Ireland, a bloody civil war took place before and in the early years of 1920's. After the ending of civil war, a new era began. People longed for democracy and peace. Eventually, in 1932, the general elections were held. The turn out was that Fianna Fail got leading majority. When the time of transition came, there was a common fear that the runner-up W.T Cosgrave's party would not allow the rivals to take up the cahrge and form the government. But Cosgrave's party didn't took any such step. At last, the government was formed by Fianna Fail party. To cut in short, people along with politicians feared that followers of Communism would take revenge. They would surely massacred the rivals, but it did not happen so. So, there was a great fear among masses about the people having affiliations with Communism and the term came, Ireland's 1930s Red Scare movement. (I'm not a student of History but mere interest in it pushed me to write so. Pardons!!!)
