Terrible Time Management
 

The precis and composition paper was relatively easy this year, however, I ran out of time before I could finish my paper and couldn't attempt the final question, the one with the Urdu translation, although in my defense, I'm not that good at Urdu and probably wouldn't have attempted it that well. And apart from that, I also missed a few homophone question (I could only attempt 2 parts and a half of another one). I blame my terrible time management, as I somehow ended up giving an hour to precis. The rest of my paper went good though.

I wasn't that content when I came out of the examination hall. But is there any chance that even with all these blunders I'll pass this one? Has anyone else had the same issue, this year or in previous attempts?

Me too. I'm hoping it won't affect the overall marking much. How did the rest of your paper go?

It was indeed a lengthy paper. I have barely managed to finish it. Writing and presentation skills were compromised in last few questions. I only got 20 minutes to attempt precis. Paragraph was easy but I am not happy with the title I have given. I wrote it when invigilating staff started snatching papers. It was due to comprehension and narration passage. They took most of my time. Last year, I came out after 2 hours. That paper was not lengthy.

It was lengthy, wasn't it? Kudos to you for managing to finish it on time :-) How much did you score in this subject last year?
And do you think it would be difficult for me to pass this subject because of this blunder, even if the rest of my paper went good, if not great?

Same here. For the comprehension passage, I was left with less than five minutes. I lost twenty marks straightaway. Hopes are already forlorn, to be honest.

same here. i left 10 marks paper. and attempted last question in just 10 mints. Allah knows what will happen.

it wasn't comprehension, rather an essay; 3 to 4 things were asked in a single question and there were even question based on our personal opinion !

Both the passages of comprehension and precis were given from Wren and Martin's book.

Yes it was a very lengthy paper.

I myself couldn't manage time and didn't do justice to the comprehension passage.

I also made blunder of PUNCTUATING Q5 B whereas it was supposed to be converted into indirect speech from direct. I lost straight 5 marks there because I made this blunder due of lack of time and confusion. :wacko:
