Cajole
to persuade someone to do something they might not want to do, by pleasant talk and (sometimes false) promises:

USE:He really knows how to cajole people into doing what he wants

Synonyms
1)BAnter
conversation which is amusing and not serious:

2)Beguile
to charm, attract or interest, sometimes in order to deceive:
USe:He was completely beguiled by her beauty.

3)Con
to make someone believe something false, usually so that they will give you their money or possessions:
USe:-She felt she had been conned into buying the car.

4)DEcoy
something or someone used to trick or confuse other people or animals into doing something, especially something dangerous:
USe:They used a girl hitch-hiker as the decoy to get him to stop.

5)DElude
to make someone believe something that is not true; to deceive:
USE:He's deluding himself if he thinks he's going to be promoted this year

6)Dupe
to deceive someone, usually making them do something they did not intend to do:
USe:The girls were duped by drug smugglers into carrying heroin for them.

7)Entice
to persuade someone to do something by offering them something pleasant:
USE:The adverts entice the customer into buying things they don't really want.
People are being enticed away from the profession by higher salaries elsewhere



8)inveigle
to persuade someone to do something in a clever and dishonest way, when they do not want to do it:
Her son tried to inveigle her into giving him the money for a car.

9)LURE
to persuade someone to do something or go somewhere by offering them something exciting:
She was lured into the job by the offer of a high salary.
He had lured his victim to a deserted house.


10)manoeuvre
a cleverly planned action which is intended to obtain an advantage:
A series of impressive manoeuvres by the chairman had secured a lucrative contract for the company.

11)tempt
to make someone want to have or do something, especially something that is unnecessary or wrong:
USE:The offer of a free car stereo tempted her into buying a new car.

12)wheedle
to try to persuade someone to do something or give you something by praising them or being intentionally charming:
USE:She's one of those children who can wheedle you into giving her anything she wants.
She wasn't invited, but somehow she managed to wheedle her way in.



Antonyms

1)BULLY
to hurt or frighten someone who is smaller or less powerful than you, often forcing them to do something they do not want to do:
USE:Our survey indicates that one in four children is bullied at school.

2)BElittle
to make an action or a person seem unimportant:
USe:Though she had spent hours fixing the computer he belittled her efforts.
