Expansion is usually 250 words, which means about two sides, and 3-5 paragraphs, depending on the size of your paragraphs, but most definitely more than 2 paragraphs, and its a good idea to paras short as they are easier 2 understand.

Precis

The whole purpose of precis is to be brief, succint, and compact, ideal length of precis should be one third of the original passage, which means that if the passage is 300 words long than your precis should be around 100 words or less. Precis is not written in paragraphs, usually a precis should exceed no more than 7-8 lines.

Using direct quotations from the passage is highly discouraged, and no marks will be given for using it as title, the examiners want creativity, not some copy and paste exercise,

I hope your confusion is cleared, all the best!
