Plz critically evaluate this expansion

A WISE MAN IS A MAN WHO KNOWS HE IS A FOOL

Most of the people in our world know less; yet they feel themselves over-brimming with the treasures of intelligence and therefore proclaim to be wise. Whilst some are those who know much; but by virtue of their humility they feel to know nothing and confidently confess to have follies in their brains. Actually, the former ones are fools; the latter ones wise.

The fools rely solely on their self-proclamation of prudence and decline to assess their abilities. Their wisdom; whatever part they have of it, demands them not to show any signs of ignorance, lest they will be accused of folly. Consequently, they are likely to keep their decadent state through out their lives. On the contrary, wise men always have humbleness by their side to protect them from the clutches of arrogance which tends to emanate from excessive knowledge. Newton, the great physicist who was even applauded by Pope in such heavenly words

"Nature and nature's laws lay hid in night
God said, 'Let Newton be', and all was light"

never declared himself any wiser than a lay man. But in our daily life we meet numerous men, boasting themselves to be the best in intellect; and most of the times, without any evaluation of their talents.

It is true, however, that humans cannot be called completely wise or fool in their persons. But fools blur whatever wisdom they have been given by their foolishness. Whereas the wise, triumphantly hide whatever dupery they
have in their character by means of their wisdom.

It is excellent to have a giant strength but it is tyrannical to use it like a gaint.

Who does not love strength? Who does not desire power? Since its inception man has always been in search of ways to gain power; to control his own kind; to rule the land; to conquer the skies. And many a times he succeeded in his efforts. Some gained power of body, some of mind.

When man reigned the realm of knowledge and brought forth favors for humans, he earned not only power and pelf but dignity and respect. When he commanded war fields to earn freedom for his lot, he was esteemed as a god. It is the same strength that made Samson a hero, it is the same power that made Martin Luther King, a symbol of freedom and liberty. But all the heroes of this world were made heroes only when they used their might and valor for the good of their people. Whenever man used his colossal powers cruelly, he was regarded as a tyrant. History does not remember his Herculean power, it simply condemns it. Who talks in favor of Hitler? Ask any Japanese the benefits of having nuclear power. The answers stare us in the face! There is no need to go back even. We have ample examples in present where the oppressors receive stones and shoes from public as signs of disapproval.

Although, Providence gives men giant-like powers as opportunity of becoming legends, but many prefer being a tyrant and use this privilege like a giant.

Every solution breeds many new problems.

The given adage refers to the fact that when a new solution is found of any problem, it gives rise to so many other problems. For instance, Pakistan is an agricultural country. The basic problem is to increase the production of demanding crops in Pakistan. Then, Pakistani products can compete with foreign products in the international market. For this purpose, the use of mechanized implements in our agricultural sector is quite essential. When agricultural sector is mechanized, the untrained labour force would be thrown out of employment. The basic motive is to increased agricultural production but on the other hand, it will increase unemployment. This is how every solution breeds new problem.

The use of Antibiotics can give some relief from pain of stern diseases. Antibiotics have brought severe diseases under control. It is a great phenomenon of science. Although, use of antibiotics cause many other adverse affects on patients. Cancer patients are often treated by chemo rays, which later reduce the ratio of healthy blood cells in human body. Treatment of cancer can lead to many abnormalities in human body.

The craze of industrialization has created the problem of pollution in the third world countries. Thus, rapid industrialization gives progress to the economy of a country. The industrial centers emit out smoke through chimneys, which pollutes atmosphere. Many diseases have spread out in the industrial cities, which take a heavy toll of human life. Water is contaminated consumption of which adversely affects human stomach. The third world countries do not have the resources to deal with the problem of pollution. The crux of the maxim is that it is a fact every solution can bring many problems.

Dear its a nice effort but let me tell you a few things about the written passage.
1) The basic problem is to increase the production of demanding crops in Pakistan. Then, Pakistani products can compete with foreign products in the international market.
its not about quantity of production its about quality of production to compete in international market.
2)The basic motive is to increased agricultural production but on the other hand, it will increase unemployment. This is how every solution breeds new problem.
no need to write here that this is how every solution breeds new problem.
3) Antibiotic is not a phenomenon of science.
4) In the third paragraph you have given an example of Industrialization and problems that breeds out of it .Now look at the sequence of examples which you have given First related to economics then from science then again from economics. If you write the examples of economics together it will make more sense and bring beauty to the paragraph as mechanized agriculture leads to unemployment which forced to more industrialization which leads to pollution etc etc.
5) In the end you have written The crux of the maxim is that it is a fact every solution can bring many problems. Crux of the maxim given by you is actually the maxim not a crux.

To err is human, to forgive is divine

The maxim brings out a reality of human nature. Man by nature is a bundle of mistakes. Consciously or unconsciously man makes many lapses in his life. Intentional mistakes are often harmed others adversely. Moreover, certain mistakes are related to instinctive behavior of man.

If you are in a privileged position, you must show humane attitude to your co workers. To be in a commanding position, one needs a big heart to accommodate the vagaries of one’s subordinates. If they make minor mistakes deliberate or otherwise, overlook them. Forgive them for their lapses. Man should show compassion, sympathy and forgiveness to others.

The holy prophet (PBUH) showed a humane behavior and treatment towards Jews and his enemies. An old lady who threw rubbish on his head regularly, when he often passed in front of her house, fell ill. The holy prophet (PBUH) moved into the house to acquire about her health. He was full of compassion. He forgave her on this bad action. The holy prophet (PBUH) taught Muslims to how forgive others on their lapses. To err is Human, to forgive is divine.

A person can kill some people if his speeding car not under control, runs over them. It is not a deliberate action. The person can be tried under law. If the relatives of the deceased forgive them after getting ransom, that is a different matter. God will forgive a person for making an unintentional lapse. Allah’s trait is forgiveness. He is kind and forgiving. The crux of the aphorism is that man is vindictive by nature and make intentionally and unintentionally mistakes but forgiveness is extremely salubrious and superb good deed.

And by dint of laborious work of 60 years, the china is now commanding the economy of the world. For instance, the small houses of industrial province of China turned into full-fledge factories and are doing their best to improve economy of China. Moreover, The Chinese government officials are also putting their maximum efforts to ensure barrier-less business in their mother land. In the words of Thomas Alva Edison " There is no substitute for hard work" and the case of China authenticated it. Thus, Chinese destiny was alter by its industrious human resource.

Dreams for future rely on the work play of today:
Man works hard to achieve success in future. He maintains constant labor and perseverance in order to make his dream true. Undoubtedly, the present time of man is connected with that of his future. If he works hard today, he will touch immense heights in future. For instance, Bill Gates, one of the richest tycoons, was rusticated from his university because of his deplorable performance . So, what he did, he suffered. However, in span of time he flourished his future by constant labor. And he established Microsoft Corporation.
On the contrary, some people are exceptionally fortunate. They do nothing in their present days. But they gain everything they dream. Bayron was such. He awoke one morning and found himself famous. But it happens rarely. In usual cases, people’s work done today, blesses sweet fruit tomorrow. Indeed, while working tenaciously to achieve future dream, man faces many stumbling blocks on the way to his success. No doubt, one who faces those hurdles bravely, get his dream true. On the other hand, man who does not sustain pressure of problems, while struggling for his aim, definitely fails to beat his goal. In some cases, such people, who do not dare to fight for their dream, faces sever miseries and mental agony.
Summing up, what man dreams for future is related to his actions. If he works hard and commits to get his dream true in future, he will, without any shadow of doubt, touch the sky. However, if he does not adopt constant labor and perseverance today, he will confront hardships and will fail to achieve his objective. Thus, it becomes clear that dreams for future rely on the work play of today.

To err is human, to forgive is divine

This saying is from “An Essay on Criticism,” by Alexander Pope. The basic meaning of Pope’s line is that any human can make a mistake, so we should try to forgive them, just as God is said to show divine mercy and forgive sinners. The first part to err is human means that every single person is fallible and bound to make mistakes, including ourselves. Err here refers to doing something that is wrong. The second half of the phrase refers to the act of forgiveness. All people commit sins and make mistakes. God forgives them, and people are acting in a godlike (divine) way when they forgive.

The Prophet (PBUH) was the most forgiving person. He was ever ready to forgive his enemies. When he went to Ta’if to preach the message of Allah, its people mistreated him. They abused him and hit him with stones. He left the city humiliated and wounded. When he took shelter under a tree, the angel of Allah visited him and told him that Allah sent him to destroy the people of Ta’if because of their sin of mistreating their Prophet. The Prophet -peace be upon him- prayed to Allah to save the people of Taif and forgave them, because what they did was out of their ignorance.

The maxim has been proved that forgiveness is a godly attribute. Forgiveness is one of the great virtues that all people should aspire for. We should avoid lapses of others and try to forgive them. If we really want to love, we must learn how to forgive.
(Mother Theresa)

csscandidate Monday, December 20, 2010 07:31 PM

AOS bro Musa i have written this expansion please check it and give your remarks.
TO ERR IS HUMAN ,TO FORGIVE IS DIVINE
Human nature is very much inclined towards making mistakes. He does so knowingly or in ignorance .forgiveness is the chahacteristic of God alone.if a human forgive another’s mistakes and errors,he rises above humanity and attain the quality of God.
Human is home to errors.but inspite of that he does not show openheartedness to forgive another human’s mistakes. As the followers of islam we have the glorious example of holy prophet of islam before us.he was so merciful that he even forgave his bitterest enemies.on the occasion of his trip to Taif for preaching islam he was so mistreated by the people there.they even hurled stones at him.but instead of cursing them,he prayed to Allah for their guidance.his forgiving nature won the hearts of his friends and foes alike.because of his merciful nature he is “rehmat-lil-aalemin”.forgiveness helps to reform society.bitter feelings against one another
Helps no one but create fraction and division.forgiveness infuses love and
sympathy(characteristics of God)in the hearts of humans for one another.this is what makes nations united and strong.
The world at present needs the harmony and unity all the more. When revenge and retaliation do not bore any good results it is better to adopt divine path of forgiveness.if one want to create peace and love in society and desire to be possessor of Godly qualities,he must learn to forgive one another’s little mistakes.

In a strategy it is important to see distant things close and take a distanced view of closed things

A strategy is indeed a plan chalked out to achieve the specific goal. A strategy varies in its nature and degree. It is designed by keeping in view the ground realities and after thorough observation of its pros and cons. It plays significant role in inter-state and intra-state relations and also in the development of the country. The failure or success of a strategy breeds widespread effects. Therefore, it is imperative that while planning a strategy its outcomes in short run and long run should be evaluated. Thus, in this regard it is important to see distant things close and the should also take a distanced view of close things.
The history is replete with such example where a strategy is designed by keeping in view above tactics and proved fruitful. The truce of Hudabiya was signed between Muslims and Quresh in the sixth century. The terms and conditions laid down in the treaty were unfavorable on the part of Muslims. However, Hazart Muhammad (PBUH) accepted these harsh and difficult conditions which ultimately brought grandeur victory for Muslims. In fact it was political acumen of Hazart Muhammad (PBUH) who viewed distant things in a closed view and close things in a broad view.
Sir Syed Ahmed khan was a great Muslim luminary during the British rule in Indo-Pak subcontinent. He realized the importance of education for the amelioration of the Muslims. In this context, he planned a strategy to embark on the policy of acquiring western education. In this sphere, he viewed a distant thing close i.e. amelioration of the downtrodden Muslims and in this regard, he took the distanced view of close thing i.e. attainment of western education. The strategy became successful which culminated in the achievement of separate homeland for Muslims.
It in concluded that a strategy play pivotal role in development of country and relations among countries. Therefore, there is no denying fact that while designing a strategy it is important to see distant thing close and take a distanced view of close things

SOME PEOPLE CONFUSE MISMANAGEMENT WITH BAD LUCK

Confusing mismanagement with ill-fortune is the last resort for those who want to save their grace after confronting failure or the poor consequences of a case or event. The poor management skills are put in the sack of bad luck and hence, many cases of negligence are beautifully tagged as cases of lady luck’s miser smiles. This is ironic how man has revolutionized the state of excellence by the mere induction of bad luck into his matters.

The world around us is full of such instances starting right from the institution of family and goes beyond the international and global boundaries.

The First World War was the result of a badly mismanaged Balkan crisis in the summer of 1914 rather than the product of long standing rivalries between the great powers.

The recent uncontrolled flood was an outcome of mismanaged rivers but the authorities have merely termed it as an avoidable ‘natural disaster’; this confusion between the mismanagement and ill-fortune has left the masses in a state of chaos.

The incident of three years old Imanae Malik’s death was a sheer mismanagement on the behalf of hospital’s staff but when the father let the cat out of the bag, doctors had nothing to utter but blame the destiny for this breathtaking incident. The action taken against the hospital staff is another tale of mismanagement.

The deplorable ‘art’ of confusing mismanagement with bad luck is a learned behavior which a child learns from his elders and till the same child grows up into a ‘potentially’ responsible citizen, this becomes his second nature. This collective behavior can lead to the chaos in a society. Hence, people should make efforts not to confuse the mismanaged cases with bad luck to avoid occurrence of potential chaos in the society.

Some people confuse mismanagement with bad luck

Mostly failure is attributed to bad luck without in-depth analysis of ones own skills. God created man as a superior creature and bestowed him with unlimited energies of body and mind for commanding his destiny. However man underestimates his abilities and capacities while resorting for super natural happenings. Accordingly the heavy dependence on destiny and paranormal happenings in ones life undermines ones confidence and performance; as he attributes everything, good or bad, to his fate and remotely strives for a better result. Likewise, an aspirant ascribing the causes of failure in CSS exam to bad luck is tantamount to question the capabilities of human being at large. Similarly, a person performs very faintly in the task and failed badly; and without counselling his own abilities he question the credibility of examining authorities. Correspondingly the abilities and skills of such a person vanish with the passage of time and he turns cynic. There is saying that “The winds and waves are always on the side of the ablest navigators”. Nothing in this world is difficult and bigger than the will of human being; the mega structures of stupendous Taj Mahal and miraculous Pyramids of Egypt are manifestation of human imagination and capacities. Additionally, the every scientific discovery gives ample proof of human’s extra ordinary power. In such scenario one has to alter his path and channelise his abilities to get the desired result. Thus, the stars have nothing to do in our life instead we ourselves are underling.

History is replete with such example where a strategy is designed by keeping in view above tactics and proved fruitful. In fact it was the political acumen of Hazart Muhammad (PBUH) who viewed distant things in a closed view and close things in a broad view.
Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was a great Muslim luminary during the British rule in the Indo-Pak subcontinent. He realized the importance of education for the amelioration of the Muslims in the sub-continent. In this context, he planned a strategy to embark on the policy of acquiring western education. The strategy became successful which culminated in the achievement of separate homeland for Muslims.
It in concluded that a strategy plays pivotal role in development of a country and relations among countries. Therefore, there is no denying fact that while designing a strategy it is important to see the distant thing close and take a distanced view of close things

@ XAARA
jenny u haven't grasp the meaning of the quotation. the thing you mentioned in your expansion is that people use the lame excuse of Bad luck factor to hide their failure. but the quotation actually says that People really think that they have made their efforts but the resultant failure is due to bad luck. They don't deny the fact that they haven't made efforts. They actually think that we have made proper efforts but even then they have to face failure so its their bad luck.
They are not using bad luck as a tool to hide their poor efforts.
Complete confusion about the statement.
The First World War was the result of a badly mismanaged Balkan crisis in the summer of 1914 rather than the product of long standing rivalries between the great powers.

SOME PEOPLE CONFUSE MISMANAGMENT WITH LUCk
Luck and management are two important factors behind success.but some people when fail in their goals due to mismanagement and lack of hard work they blame luck for their failure. But this is not true.the fact is that luck is one’s own hands.one can even change one’s bad luck with hard work and proper management.

We can refer to many instances when people as well as governments blame luck and nature for their failure in managing their affairs.the most recent example of that was floods in Pakistan.although government and people in many areas had enough time to get prepared to face the calamity and could have minimized the loses.but they failed in it and blamed luck for it that they were destined to face it.many muslims have failed to understand that the reason of their backwardness is not luck but mismanagement of their affairs like education, economy and politics.similarly when people fail to succeed in their aims they again hold the luck responsible.they even do not want to think for a second that whether they had put the maximum effort in it or not.

In the end it is important to mention that there is also a luck factor.but it is also a reality that God help those who help themselves by managing their affairs properly and sincerely with hard work.
