PLz Check: Direct/Indirect Practice from past papers

[B]Change the following sentences from direct speech to Indirect Speech:[/B]

[B][COLOR="Blue"]1. "Hurrah''! Said the captain of the team, "we won the match".[/COLOR][/B]
The captain of the team exclaimed with joy that they had won the match.

[B][COLOR="Blue"]2. "Please Sir, take pity on a poor beggar woman'', the wretched old woman asked for alms[/COLOR][/B]
The wretched old woman begged/requested for alms to take pity on a poor beggar woman.

[B][COLOR="Blue"]3. They say. "Is this the right time to arrive, Aren't you forgetting something"?[/COLOR][/B]
They ask whether that is the right time to arrive and if you are not forgetting something.
[B][COLOR="Blue"]
4. He often says, "I am always willing to help the needy, if I am assured they are really in need''.[/COLOR][/B]
He often says that he is always willing to help the needy, if he is assured they are really in need.

[B][COLOR="Blue"]5. The master said, "How long will you take in warming my food".[/COLOR][/B]
The master inquired me how long i would take in warming his food.

[B][COLOR="Blue"]6 The boy said. "Alas' I could not pass my examination"[/COLOR][/B]
The boy exclaimed with sorrow that he could not pass his examination.

[B][COLOR="Blue"]7. "Come hare quickly and work out this problem on the blackboard" said the teacher.[/COLOR][/B]
The teacher ordered to come there quickly and work out that problem on the blackboard.

[B][COLOR="Blue"]8. "What a lovely evening!" Said Irum.[/COLOR][/B]
Irum exclaimed with joy that was a lovely evening.

[B][COLOR="Blue"]9. "What is the name of this beautiful building?" asked the visitor.[/COLOR][/B]
The visitor inquired what the name of that building was.
The visitor asked the name of that beautiful building.

[B][COLOR="Blue"]10. He said "Sit down over here and don't move until I allow you". [/COLOR][/B]
He ordered him to sit down over there and forbade him to move until he allowed him.

No2 : The wretched old woman requested him to take pity on her.
No3 : They say if this is the right time to arrive and i am not forgetting something.
No7 : The teacher told to go there quickly and work out THIS problem on the blackboard.

CHANGE THE NARRATION OF THE FOLLOWING SENTENCES:

[COLOR="Purple"][B](2) "Where do you want to be dropped?" said the taxi driver.[/B][/COLOR]
The taxi driver asked where i wanted to be dropped.
[B][COLOR="Purple"](3) "Call the first witness," said the judge.[/COLOR][/B]
The judge ordered that first witness be called.
or
The judge ordered to call the first witness.
[B][COLOR="Purple"](4) "Don't blame him for the accident," the boy's mother said[/COLOR][/B].
The mother asked not to blame her son for the accident.
[B][COLOR="Purple"](5) He said, "I banged on Cliffs door but he did not answer".[/COLOR][/B]
He said that he had banged on cliffs door but he did not answer.
[COLOR="Purple"][B](6) "Where is the boat? Hurry up we are being chased", she cried.[/B][/COLOR]
She exclaimed with suspicion/fear where the boat was as they were being chased.
[B][COLOR="Purple"](7) "I have lost my way. Can you direct me to the Post Office please?" said the old lady.[/COLOR][/B]
The old lady requested that she had lost her way, if i could direct her to the post office.
[COLOR="Purple"][B](8) He said to me, "what a pity you missed such an important meeting.[/B][/COLOR]
He exclaimed with regret that i had missed such an important meeting.
[COLOR="Purple"][B](9) "How wonderful! Why didn't you suggest this plan earlier".[/B][/COLOR]
He exclaimed with surprise why i had not suggested [B]this plan earlier.[/B]
[COLOR="Purple"][B](10) He said, "Let's wait till the road gets cleared".[/B][/COLOR]
He suggested to wait till the road got cleared.

Yes.
1st : The word [B]come[/B] will be converted into [B]go[/B] according to Sadaat's Exploring the world of english (chapter 15) plus it's also mentioned in Oxford english book.:)
2nd : We also avoid to use multiple conditional structures(whether or if) in one sentence and try to combine them by introducing conjunction or phrase.....! (Since its not mentioned in the book, but common observation)

According to Sadaat's, NO change will be made in cases where reports are made at the time of the speech or where the object of speech are present at the time of reporting.
here house is present at the time of reporting so, no change should be made.
Seniors can elaborate with examples.

You are right but if we follow that rule then it would be"jamie inquired if this was my house"

Like in saddat,s book there is"ikram said " this is my basket"
Indirect:ikram said that this was his basket.
