Dear All,
I want to make it confirm whether we can use among and amongst interchangeably..? If not, please elaborate what the rules say about them(i mean their proper place). THank you |

There is no difference. Amongst is a variant of among. The only difference is the users who choose between them. American users like to go for among whereas British users also openly use amongst.

Because, both are being used in newspapers and magazines even in a single paragraph and Sadaat's exploring also did not explained it. So does it make any difference if we use both of them in our practice of essay or shall we restrict ourselves to British one (since it's official lang)?
