according to law of cause and effect every happening has a cause not a leaf falls,not a wind blows,not a flower opens without a reason but we still use a word chance to describe happenings the reason of which we donot know.when such apparently causeless happenings are favourable to us,we say they are luck,when unfavourable we call them unlucky,luck is siply untraced and untraceable law.


precis:
luck is simply untraceable"chance"is the word used to describe happenings,the reason of which we are unaware.But science is in contradiction with this idea it says every happening has a cause.
yet to us favourable happenings are luck and those unfavourable-unlucky.

First of all find out the title of passage then select those points that support the title.
Try again by using this method, you would find your mistakes by yourself.
Moreover, Your selected title must be specific, single, it should not be a one world title and it should give a clear idea about the passage.

its a poor precis in my point of view. the order of the precis should be same as the order of the paragraph. secondly idea explained in two three lines in the paragraph should be explained in one line. the theme of the precis should remain the same as the theme of the real paragraph.

science denies the idea of luck and it believes that every happening has a cause. Chance is the word used to explain happenings with unknown causes. Luck is untraceable law but to us favourable happening is luck and unfavourable unlucky.
Try doing some difficult paragraph as i believe the easier the paragraph, the harder it is to do precis.

yes. . it was a harsh comment. i couldnt edit it otherwise i wouLd have removed these words. your approach is correct but you just need few corrections.

Don't worry dear and do not take it to heart. No one is perfect from the beginning. There are several examples for such people on this very forum who kept on posting their dismal writings but doing so helped them to improve a lot. You keep on posting everything you write without any hesitation and considering that everyone is learning here, Inshallah you will hold command on writing very soon.

You should find the topic first, look for supporting arguments. Use synonyms and one word substitution, ..bring coherence and improve syntax.

well i was just thinking that people have no jurisdiction to call a precis poor or good, all they can is give a comment that is justified and appropriate.....don't worry dear, its always very difficult to take the first plunge and once you have taken it things just get smoother.....don't lose your heart by such comments...

excllent piece of work please give some heed to the following points
1. find out the gist of the pragragh
2. dont write ur precis words in inverted commas
3. always make min 2 rough drafts then finalize it
4. keep in mind the total words of the original para and final draft of precis
