Is it acceptable to write on alternate lines? That is, leaving a line in Essay or any other paper for that matter?

The answer sheets are lined. but it would feel rather immature and childish. Of course it will be acceptable but not appealing

Lined sheets were provided in CE 14 and CE 15 and this trend is expected to continue.

The pages are lined. They used to be blank but it's not like that anymore.
They will be lined in CE 2016

Do not answer what you not know about. Answer sheets since CE-2014 are lined. In both CE 2014-15 answer sheets were lined and will onward also.

Yes you can leave but that will create bad impression and you may loose marks. So better do not apply this thing.
