Default Quality or Quantity?

Dear Luqman

Its about Quality of writing not the quantity, write 3 to 5 pages atleast daily but there should be no mistake in anything. Keep writing and get it checked by some senior till perfection.

Regards,

@ MUHAMMAD LUQMAN GUJAR

My friend I would advise that you must read a lot. Reading increases your vocabulary and improves your general knowledge as well as your analytical skills.

Best of luck for CSS 2011.

Keep on writing essays besides reading newspapers editorial section so your vocabulary gets improved. You will notice that slowly your length of essay will increase but keep focus on quality of your essay.

At the end its the quality that matters not the quantity.

You can develop analytical skills by reading a lot about different issues. For example take up the issue of Kalabagh dam. Read different articles and columns written on Kalabagh dam. After reading all the available material build your own opinion about the issue. In this way you will be able to critically analyze different issues.

@ Luqman

In order to enhance your analytical skills you have to make your strategy in a systematic way.

First, you have grip on all the pros and cons of selected topic. Read whatever you have on the selected topic. Analyse the authors, writers are they are neutral or hostile towards your topic. Then, first read the articles of those writers who are neutral, then come to the hostile.

Second, after doing this try to compare and contrast the issue with your own thoughts.

Third, do your own critical analysis.

Remember, for every step you have one thing in your mind i.e. WHY question. Every thing you read ask yourself WHY this is so, WHY it happen. In this way, in a short span of time your analytical skills will be enhanced.
