Default Did you give headings in 2010 Essay Paper?
Hey folks, I was wondering how to improve my essay score in the next attempt, the tips given in this section are very useful and I have gone through them. The main confusion I face is regarding headings in essays. Some people say they induce negative marking, others say they help.

I wanted to ask whether you gave headings in your essay papers and if yes, what marks did you get, i.e. if you did not pass.

Those who qualified can also give their opinions since this is quite confusing.

listen dear hunain i give headings in my essay paper and i got 46 without any sort of preapartion
and i give headings in my islamiyat paper too and i also quoted distinct hadith and ayat from Holy Quran but i got 26 i m more cnfused than u

what actions did u take in attempting ur essay without preparation.what do u means by without preparation.what question did u attempt.did u had enough information about the topic.
if not then how 46?

essay with headings makes no sense.i mean it is a blunder.but i dont know how the above person got 46.i mean its strange.

plz guys elaborate on it.

That is the problem, I was so confused before essay paper, everyone agrees on Outlines, so I gave outline in my essay paper, a lot of people said headings are a plus point. I gave headings in the essay paper, I wrote good English, I have no problems in writing English, I gave a good ammount of depth and wrote a fair length. I got 40, barely passed.

Now I want those who scored more in the essay to tell us if they gave headings in the paper or not, or bullet points, bold, underlining?

I am not sure if in my next attempt I should give headings or not, very confusing and frustrating.

dont ever give headings in essay paper. it should b written in paragraphs only.do give outline as this time it was asked.if you want to put quotations write it in inverted commas.

as far as i think headings in 100 marks essay make no sense at all.. we used to give headings in the primary classes to get gud marks... but here, our ability and knowledge about any particular topic is checked... this level needs a precise yet descriptive type of essay and its very childish to give headings.... so as the other members hv told u that give outline, write ur essay in paragraphs, write quotations in inverted commas and if necessary, underline 'em. be blessed

First I wrote outline, a very short outline of 1 page, then I made headings on each outline on later pages.. I gave heading on almost each page
essay was like that

Outline
Religion
Origin
Histrory
Major Religions of the world
Reveald / Non Revealed
.............
so on



Then I used each outline topic as heading in later pages

and got 47 marks
