Quote:
Give it spiritual as well as historical touch. Spiritual and moral points can be picked up from the following quotations and some Ayat from Quran Pak. Whereas historical precedents for practical life purpose can be discussed in the body of essay to validate these quotes and Ayat. Here are some ideas and relevant quotes in point form for your essay. Make the most of these points to support your essay: “Peace is its own reward” (Mahatma Gandhi) "There is no way to peace, peace is the way." A. J. Muste "One day we must come to see that peace is not merely a distant goal we seek, but that it is a means by which we arrive at that goal. We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means. " (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) Mental peace has multiplier effect which generates extended physical peace. Positive attitude is contagion in nature and gives positive reinforcement. Show its transmission mechanism. Joy increases as you give it, and diminishes as you try to keep it for yourself. In giving it, you will accumulate a deposit of joy greater than you ever believed possible. As “one rotten apple spoils a bunch” similarly one person’s attitude whether positive or negative will spread throughout the entire group. Nobody likes to be around a negative attitude. Learn how you can transform your organization, group, or staff just by bringing a positive attitude with you every day. You have the power to choose your attitude. Positive attitude affects the culture of a group, organization, or staff When your mind is tranquil, all your ill-thoughts cease. Most people let thoughts connected with worries, fears, anger or unhappiness occupy their mind most of the time. The inner conversation affects the subconscious mind. Words and thought that are repeated often get stronger with repetition, thus affecting the behavior and actions of the person involved. Every thought is a seed. If you plant crab apples, don’t count on harvesting Golden Delicious. (Bill Meyer) He who lives in harmony with himself lives in harmony with the world. (Marcus Aurelius) "If the human race wishes to have a prolonged and indefinite period of material prosperity, they have only got to behave in a peaceful and helpful way toward one another." (Winston Churchill) "We should take care, in inculcating patriotism into our boys and girls, that is a patriotism above the narrow sentiment which usually stops at one's country, and thus inspires jealousy and enmity in dealing with others... Our patriotism should be of the wider, nobler kind which recognises justice and reasonableness in the claims of others and which lead our country into comradeship with...the other nations of the world. The first step to this end is to develop peace and goodwill within our borders, by training our youth of both sexes to its practice as their habit of life, so that the jealousies of town against town, class against class and sect against sect no longer exist; and then to extend this good feeling beyond our frontiers towards our neighbours." (Lord Baden-Powell) "Peace, like charity, begins at home." ( Franklin D. Roosevelt) “If you wish to experience peace, provide peace for another” (Tenzin Gyatso) "Responsibility does not only lie with the leaders of our countries or with those who have been appointed or elected to do a particular job. It lies with each of us individually. Peace, for example, starts within each one of us. When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us. When our community is in a state of peace, it can share that peace with neighboring communities, and so on. When we feel love and kindness towards others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace. " - HH The Dalai Lama "It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness. Lights of peace become circles of peace. Circles of peace become communities of peace. Communities of peace become a peaceful world community." Bob Stewart “If there is to be peace in the world, There must be peace in nations. If there is to be peace in the nations, There must be peace in the cities. If there is to be peace in the cities, There must be peace between neighbours. If there is peace between neighbours, There must be peace in the home. If there is to be peace in the home, There must be peace in the heart.” the 6th century Chinese philosopher Lao Tse Regards

@ raz
Good work man,, some very relevant quotations.. some more points: - War has not generated peace. On the contrary, dialogue, non-violent movements, 'boley to ghandi-giri' has led to resolution of many problems. History is replete with examples to corroborate the above assertion. - Religion ,when misused and misinterpreted, has proved to be divisive force. However, when used benevolently, religion has brought people across different race, religions, nationalities, caste and color closer under the umbrella of humanity. History is brimming with such examples too. From bhagat kabir and guru nanak to desmond tutu and mother teresa. and ths subject 'peace begets peace' can also be applied at a more personal level as well as with a spiritual dimension as suggested by Raz. Do well...
