W,Salam..

First of all; Never Get Confused at any Matter in any Way !

Reading Dawn is a good activity, no doubt.

But its not sufficient if you really wanted to make a difference.
Select a topic search it from net..
For example;
literature is the best criticism of life
Now stat forwarding your queries to Google.
Ask, How literature could be a criticism, Possible ways, revolutionary aspects of literature etc.
Never limit it to any specific Literature Add English urdu Punjabi.
Illustrate your topic by picking example from all literature.

Read Periodicals, Other News Papers as well.

Good Luck !

Default Choose Another !!!

Saad,
See, this is so simple. If you get a literary essay on the exam day, and you're the least interested in such dry stuff, you may opt to write another essay other than that. Never underestimate your talents, and remind yourself everyday: well, I can do it! And, you'll see one day, you're done!

Hold On !
Its not the mater of Do and Die !
You 've plenty of Choices for that.
If you don't have an immense Back ground knowledge of that Literary or Social Topic.
Skip It ! & Choose another on which you have good Command.
Don't Try to be a 'Super Man' : : in Essay Paper No one can Handle all the Topics effectively .
Trust Me!
Just Select few of them and Collect Material.
Don't Waste your time on that sort of research in which You don't have interest or Command !
Nahein Ata So What.??
Be relax Choose another one !

@Dr Saad:
You're taking the wrong approach. First select the topics you want to prepare for, current affairs, Islamic affairs, issues related to women, social issues etc. (There is a comprehensive list in the essay preparation sticky post). Go through the essay past papers, and you'd see that there is a pattern. Some topics are almost always repeated. Choose 2 or 3 of these topics, and prepare very well for them. Open ended preparation for CSS essay paper is a big mistake!

To attempt a literary essay you must be very very well read. To be able to quote from history, philosophy or psychology to support a adage or a quote is not easy. You can't write your personal experience and hope that the examiner would be empathetic enough to pass you It's best to avoid the literary and philosophy topics in essay.
