What is this?

This topic stands diametrically opposed to the concept of Globalization: one world. The politics of 21st century is politics of nation states whose top priority is external security even at the cost of internal instability. Acquisition of WMD by some countries and efforts by others like Iran substantiates this that Security is the priority of Modern states.

Spinoza a Jew philosopher once remarked that relations b/w states have become identical to what the relations among individuals used to be in the State of Nature. Security was the main concern of man in the state of nature. Relations b/w Pak and India may be viewed in this paradigm

Secondly the Realist Theory of international relations reinforces the idea that nation states are the primary actors in the world politics and relations b/w states are one of anarchy.

The wars the US has launched have its basis in the claim that US security is at stake.
Now this is dangerous phenomena nations may end up slaughtering each other in the quest for security.

Unless states become mature and tolerant and accept diversity of interests the illusion of insecurity will haunt them perpetually.

Imperialism is a term referring to the political, economic, military and cultural influence of some nations upon others. It is a system in which a country rules other countries, sometimes by using force to get power over them. The modern imperialism occured during the late 19th and early 20th century when europian nations enveloped weaker countries and increased their wealth and power to form strong nation states and even empires. Imperialism have prevailed to this day though in a little bit different shape. These days some powerful countries virtually rule or at least influence the weaker nations through the puppet and handpicked rulers of those countries. They do all this to fulfill their wishful advantages that may include collection of cheap raw material for their industries, to find markets for their goods, for their nation glory and to attain strategic benefits etc. They do all this in the name of helping the poorer nations but in reality do a lot more damage rather than benefiting them. This newer modern imperialism is not productive at all. It has abused the system of politics and democracy of the subject nations and is still continuing to do more harm than good. So we can say that the politics of the world is more ridiculing in the prevailent atmosphere of modern imperialism than it has been ever before.
