Exclamation Aspects of development of a sterling personality - Critique...

Ok... so I just started working upon essay writing and this is my first piece so far. Your critique is welcome.

Aspects of development of a sterling personality.
"Man cannot remake himself without pain for he is both the marble and the sculptor.
The way we live, eat, drink, talk, walk, dress, express, impress or do anything else within the domain of our lives shared with others around us defines our personality. It is the projection of our inner qualities and a very crucial one. It plays a vital role in determining the course of our destiny and hence the pertinence of its development cannot be neglected. History bears witness to the fact that the legendary and immortal people of its pages all possessed exceptional personality traits which played their part in getting them to the altar of prominence. Hence, in order it get climb the ladder of success, one must start with developing a sterling personality for himself.
The human race is constantly going through social evolution. Competition in every walk of live is making life harder and harder every day and has therefore forced the individuals into joining the race for survival. Under such circumstances, one must put his best-self forward and work upon developing a genuine personality. Such a personality is more socially accepted and prone to get more recognition. Having the quality of uniqueness and authenticity of persona makes a person stand out from the crowd which gets him to get more attention and focus of others upon the clandestine qualities that he possesses – thus paving the path of his progress. On the contrary, a drab, dull and lackluster character is despised by others and this hinders his progress in life. If one wants to get the most out of his life, one must make waves to validate his existence and grab attention of those around him by virtue of his personality – the development of which requires some work.
There is a strong need felt for sterling personalities in today’s world. Our social fabric needs to be more ornate with the gems of good quality individuals who can represent a better image of our society at every forum. These individuals can also provide as an inspiration for others to follow along their lines. Moreover, the children they will father will have a better chance at reaching the level of personality that one can be proud of.
In order to start upon the journey of developing sterling personalities from among ourselves, we would first have to look at our homes. Hence, the adage: “charity begins at home”. Parents play a vital role in personality grooming as during the time a person is going through his childhood, his basic beliefs have yet to form and in whatever form they are molded, they will act as a foundation upon which he will build the rest of his personality. Hence, parents are the architects of his inner-self.
Institutions and schools also need to focus upon the personality development of children and not merely rely upon textbooks and standard curriculum as they are the nurseries of the future of the nation and have the potential of creating luminous personalities that can change the course of history. Furthermore, we need to attach ourselves more with cultures, religion and ethics since there is a plethora of guidance in these which can be useful for development of a sterling personality.
Looking at where we stand today, Pakistan is in dire need of leaders with good personality traits - leaders who represent the country with their skill, courage and wisdom and create a welcoming image of their country among the other nations. Unfortunately, we haven’t had much luck in finding such gems since the Quaid left us. We have been for the last six decades like sheep without a good shepherd. Our nation stringently needs someone who can stand out and make a positive mark on history and change our destiny for the good.
So in order to start off on our journey towards the fulfillment of this need, we must start working upon some personality development among ourselves and for that the best time to start will be – now."

P.S. I could only manage 674 words. So working on length and material is definitely on my checklist.

Without an outline most pieces can't attract the attention of members, as a result there are less chances that members will read it and suggest you something.
