Why are you asking for the proposition arguments? Does existence of proposition arguments warrant the existence of meaningfulness of the term where only opposition arguments hold true?

yes,the existence of at least a few proposition arguments warrant the existence of meaningfulness of the term. khair it is another debate. U said it was a trap but the definition of a trap includes a piece of cake or cheese to attract the prey.I am sorry i cannot find an incentive in this statement by your interpretation. that is why i was asking for proposition arguments.

@roshan.
I agree that it depends on the examiner if he finds one's arguments convincing but again, during css 2013 the examiner was very brutal.
I do not agree that it was a trap. Both angels of essay were open to the candidates. Now it depends on the ideas which will convince the examiner.

If examiners were brutal in CE-2013, it does not, necessarily means that they will follow the same approach. I have been following CE-papers/results from 2011 and what i found interesting is that now examiners like diversity of ideas/concepts rather than the pet/crammed stuff.

Ameen. Thanks.
Its not about who is right or who is wrong. Its about sharing our views.

I learnt a lot from members who replied to this thread. We must not care how lengthy a thread gets or why people argument - We must appreciate that people take out time to respond and share their views - and someone like me, learns a lot while debating.

So no 'STOP' to this thread :)
Yes i agree. There should be a non-stop rally of views, and the only purpose behind this should be learning and learning only.

As you said Great Nations win without 'struggle' is an extremely stupid statement and it harbors no valid arguments. Then, it will only strengthen the stance of the person writing against the topic!

Let's say I write an essay against the topic Great Nations win without 'struggle', there will be no counter-arguments to deal with and I only have to give my arguments against the topic! Existence of counter-arguments only weaken your stance. For example, there is this essay topic Free Speech should have limitations. No one would argue for Free Speech should have no limitations because that would be absurd! There are no strong arguments for unfettered, unmonitored, libelous and slanderous free speech! In fact counter-arguments in this case don't really exist! Therefore, it won't be an issue to interpret 'fighting' as 'struggle'. Why? because as I mentioned in one of my previous comments, that the word 'fighting' is open to interpretation because it is an ambiguous term. What you're doing is using reductio ad absurdum for justification albeit faulty and throwing out the 'struggle' interpretation of the term on the basis of non-existence of counter-arguments which will only weaken one's stance!!

i gave a superficial look to all the comments from the start, found many people confused which reminds me of my Essay in 2013.I attempted Not economy but politics is a key to success, anyhow leave this i am not going into detail,as i failed that essay:pp.
This time in 2014,before going to the essay paper i was repeatedly recalling my mistake which i made in 2013,that is went for the essay about which i was not completely cleared...Due to this experience i went for privatization of higher education essay in 2014,at least i was clear about what the checker wants from me.Now God forbid if i fail essay this time too,i would be sure that there lie some other weak areas in my essay other than irrelevancy.
i pray that all of us who have work hard become csp's,but it would be also pertinent to mention for the aspirants, that please go for the essay about which you are completely clear, believe me i have seen many average people passing essay paper with flying colors, their main concern was to keep their essay relevant to the last line and this is what they did.
Now coming to the Great nation essay, everyone knows what mistakes they have made,so its better to be silent.Fighting and criticizing won't give you anything.Indeed, CSS CAN BE PASSED WITHOUT FIGHTING:pp.

I think it means : Great Nations surpass others by avoiding wars and having peaceful stance like having trade, education etc. Because modern wars demand more money, making even attacker pay largely by compromising economy used for prospering the nation. And if the same money is spent wisely plus having peaceful environment, it is moving towards developing it and surpassing others.

Is it right?

Greatest example : The State of Madinah signed the charter for peace and ultimately Muslims over ran the Makkah al Haraam without a sword in hand.

Marwat Bhai, Sorry to hear about your 2013 experience. Relevancy is the important part of essay, but relevancy do include all the aspects/dimensions of the essay. Marwat Bhai, this thread was initiated for discussion and i hope keeping silence won't be of any help here. The purpose of this thread is not to decide who is right or wrong, but to discuss multiple angels of essay "Great Nations win without fighting".

Yes you are right. The stance which you wrote is also correct and the example you quoted is the best example. Can you paste your outline in this thread?
